Getting ready for a tournament next weekend, and got my angry-eyebrows Contemptor off the painting block. Trying out some better camera setups and I got myself a turntable for gifs!

I like it!

For blood I usually had a tiny tiny bit of blue ink/wash to make it pop, it looks more realistic IMO. If you use clear elmers glue and add food coloring. I like 5 red drops to 1 blue ratio. Just some food for thought.

again nice work!

Really nice'n'gritty! The base is just gruesome. How do you approach blood effects?

Thanks guys! The base and blood is just oodles of the Blood for the Blood God technical paint. I used to mix my own, but because my ENTIRE army uses so much of it, it was very difficult to keep a consistent recipe (and also just a pain).
For the basing I used Liquitex "Natural Sand" effects gel (most art stores carry something like it), which was nice and goopy, but with some grit. I used to use Pumice gel, but it was too porrus and sucked up a lot of the blood paint (example: http://mcgibs.com/wp-content/gallery/miniatures/chaos-cyclops03.jpg). This new stuff gives it some nice places to pool and smooth out.
