Just shown today motorcycle racer and mechanic Guy Martin gets involved in the recreation of a female MKIV World War I tank

pretty interesting stuff

(and provides an alternate reason for all the rivets on 40K stuff, just like here maybe they don't do anything, they just make it look cool

Saw it, really liked it.

I was really surprised at how roomy the interior of the Mark IV was, if it wasn't for the carbon monoxide poisoning, it would be alright.

Mind you, with the inner surface spalling off when the thing was hit with small arms, who cares about a bit of carbon monoxide...

Love Guy Martin stuff - that guy's the epitome of keeping it real.

That was pretty damn epic.

I'm impressed at the quality and work that they did building a legitimate tank.

Yeah, the Armour is not exactly thick on there.
4 Sponson gunners alone, one driver, commander and more. They had alot of men oboard.

6-7 men aboard the crew in a thinly armoured tank... Certainly have to be brave to drive into enemy fore as dozens of machine guns. Morters and more fire in mass barrage.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I missed the beginning of it, but really enjoyed the program. Thumbs up to JCB for helping the project

I think it a little disgraceful and a shameful missed opportunity for the police not to allow it to take part in Lincolns Memorial parade with safety concerns when it could have easily been done

On a better note, I found it funny when the engineering expert said his company would struggle to fill a parts order to the scale made during the war with modern tech, just shows how much heavy industry and physically determined people were in this country during the great war.

Also how decayed some of your heavy industry capacity is.
Though I guess also not all modern machines need such large parts.

There's a BBC news article up at the moment regarding the internet hate that the police got after the programme was shown.

Apparently, they didn't ban it, just had concerns that needed addressing safety-wise. But, this was a handful of guys whose priority was fitting bearings that wouldn't shred themselves - ain't nobody got time for Health and Safety assessments!
