Anyone watching BBCs Blue Planet 2?
Think the last one was early 2000s.
How they get some of the camera shots/angles/footage is crazy good.

Yeah I am.

I feel so sorry for most of the animals though.

Bloody humans are killing most of them off.

No-one does nature programmes like the BBC. Fantastic images superbly put together. Worth the licence fee on it's own.

When it got on to plastic, that was saddening and hate inducing at the same time.

That seems to be the point of nature programmes these days.
You can see elephants and such on any channel, with Sir David A's older stuff available in most formats.
But having the impact of human neglect and bad politics shown at a cuddly level might help get eco campaigns moving.

The after-show behind-the-scenes is very good too. Seeing how they got those shots, and the science they do along the way, adds to the pretty pictures of the main programme.

That behind the scenes bit demonstrates how important being able to flog this stuff to the Yanks is. a 1-hour programme on the BBC is 57 minutes or so, but once you add in the ad breaks, you're down to 40-odd minutes. So they make a 40-minute programme then pad it up to an hour with the making-of stuff.

We thought that from the Barrier Reef thing earlier this year. Instead of ads, we get nice stuff.
The license fee isn't all that bad after all.

To be honest, I'd rather the Beeb had enough money to pay for the series all by themselves so each episode could be a whole hour of beasties, but this'll do.

I love me some Blue Planet. I look forward to catching this on Netflix in the future!

I'm really enjoying it, and to be honest the making-of parts I enjoy nearly as much as the actual show.

It might sound silly, but I'm amazed by how long these people have to wait to take these shots.

Yeah, that was insane! I have to assume it was really worth it to someone to swim through clouds of grouper skeet, though.

Wow I did not know this was a thing. I love Blue Planet and have watched it dozens of times.

I strongly recommend the Blue Planet soundtrack as well. Fenton also did Planet Earth but it's not as strong IMO.

Definitely, have been really enjoying it. I'm constantly amazed by things I didn't know about existing before, it definitely pits you in awe of some of the things that go on in the natural world.

It's well worth watching on 4k (streaming or even UHD if you're prepared to pay for it). I don't think I have ever seen anything as beautiful on a TV screen.
