How to make a fitting model for the empowered version of Orikan.
What do you think?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Hello,
I was thinking about a model for Orikan and at the moment I have 2 ideas.
1. Using the Orikan model and put him into a pose similar to the C‘tan shards.
2. Using the Morghast Archai from AoS and converting it with greenstuff and Necron parts so that he looks more necron-like.
What do you think about this?

Looks great!

Nice touch with identical bases.

Good idea looking at undead (I'm not an AOS player) for inspiration, lots of skeletal details for free.

Blade too is a great looking conversion from the original. And there seems to be wraith bits scattered throughout if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks.

There are indeed a few Wraith bits.
The size of the Wraith bits fit pretty good with the size of the Morghast bits.

But I am not sure what I should do with the wings...
should I remove the small parts between the bones of the wings?

You should just remove the wings all together.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I think I won‘t remove the wings.

I think wings look awesome but I might replace them with more Necron-like wings, like replacing the wing bones with the long claw-like Canoptek Spider leg parts.

But I could just remove the wings, they are magnetized.

If you can make it work then go for it, but if not then I agree with the above. They aren’t the most necron-y feature.
I also think the head needs a fair bit of work - you need to get the croissant look with the single eye.
Good work so far though!

Well, thee was always the suspicion that his empowered profile was related to CTans, since the statline has been identical the last editions. CTans as such don't typically have necron like features.

That on the other hand is due to them residing in Necrontyr God represenation shells or some such.

So a cryptek that grows a little, shouldn't necessarily take on a Necrontyr religious form, but there is definitely some elbow space to let the imagination roam freely.

Removing the webbing between the wings could be a pain, but if you also go and make the "fingers" of the wings more necron-like in appearance, it'd sell the point.

Wow. What Model is the cat on the left?

That model peaking up on the left side of the base, models POV, would be a necron warrior shot, trampled or otherwise beatn into the ground, and in despreate need for reapair from said cryptek.

alright.

He says so in his edit to the first post. And its a Necron symbol chest plate thing that gives the false appearance of an underjaw I think.

That‘s true, there is a heavily damaged Necron Warrior on the base and on the chest is the „ankh“, the symbol of the Necrons.

I really would like to make the wings more necron-like but I don‘t know... I was thinking about the Spider and Wraith legs but they are not long enough...
Any suggestions?

Something less tattered would be better yes.

And for the general model aesthetic it would be nice to have something wing like or something on his back.

What about the wings of a heldrake? If you could make them less chaosy? Though ideally the wings should have regular patterns, not chaotic ones.

Some scifi spacecraft wings? Starwars? (then ofcourse spice them up with necron bits)

The other guy was asking about Morghast Archai though (it has a somewhat cat-like appearance at first glance due to the angle of the photo)

Okay.
I think Helldrake wings are too big for this model.
I will probably remove the webbing betwenn the wing bones.
I think I don‘t have the right parts to replace the wings with something more necron-like...
I will try to do it so, that looks smililar to the wings of the queen of blades from StarCraft but a bit more mechanical.
I will probably try this with greenstuff...

Would plasticard be of help? At least you could easily create larger regular surfaces. Any hobby store should have it

The identical bases was a great idea.

I think great!

And use wraith or spyder leg/claws for wing-talons

I like that idea.. that conversion is an interesting way to show Orikan when empowered. He's one of the characters I would consider using, certainly.

I think if I did the conversion, I'd probably use the grav-orb style like you see on the Acanthrites, or similar to the Spyder or Wraiths..
