Sometimes, I am surprised by the conversions that I am willing to make for my RPG group. I mean, I used to just find a mini that fit the bill well enough (Reaper has such a big selection, after all).

But more and more, I’ve been converting some of the craziest concepts that our players come up with.

Here is a Warpborn Skinwalker Spy character. He uses the grappling gun to get around cities from rooftop to rooftop- earning him the title “Bat-Man-Wolf.”

Thanks.

For a while, I had a problem with making interesting whites and greys. Even with enough shading, it is easy for whites to just look a little bit boring- way too dull to be the nice center of interest that I needed in his skin tones.

David Diamondstone showed me how to make white convincing with some different colors (especially the red shading). I'm really happy with how he turned out (as well as the Nyss that I painted in similar skin tones).

Great, i am taking a mental note about that.

The trick is to keep the source of light very consistent across the mini, and especially across the white areas.

If you have highlighting where there should be shadows, the effect will not work (at least, it won't look like it is white).
