First time poster (but long time browser) here. I’d love to make a custom Parasite of Mortrex for my tyranid army, and the first result you get when you search it is perfect.

It’s made with a ravener body, a metal part of of a coat hanger for the tail, a carnifex head (I think?? Correct me if not!), and the wings of an “abyssal terror” which is an oop model from some warhammer fantasy army. What I need is some replacement for these wings, as I don’t think the model they came from has been in production since around 2003...

Any ideas please post!

You should definitely consider these guys:

The wings are fairly big. I've used them for several projects.
If you do a quick Google search you can even find a lot of Tyranid minis with said wings, in order to have a size reference.

That's a tyranid warrior head.

The lower part of the body and tail looks like it was based off the metal Fell beast from the LotR range with the spines shaved off.

He specifies in his (quite limited) description of how he made it that he used the aforementioned metal part of a coat hanger - assume it was just covered in greenstuff and smoothed out.

Thanks for that! Warrior head with spikes at the back removed.

The actual wings are from a “winged nightmare”, an old OOP metal fantasy model. I’m not sure on the exact size...

Thanks for the replies so far

They do look pretty good. You say you’ve used them before? Would it be possible to give me the dimensions of the wings?
Want to make sure they’ll fit with the model before i buy a vargheist box

I can measure them when I'm at home, but I'd say a single wing is roughly 7cm from end to end.
