Hi!
Will attend a tournament in Jan and need some help with the list.
Only one detachment, no named characters and no more than 2 of each unit, 1850.
Here is my list:
Battalion (1851pts) Kronos
Flyrant: 2x MST, AG
Neurothrope
Neurothrope
Genestealers x20
Genestealers x20
Termagaunts x19
HiveGuard: Impaler cannon x6
HiveGuard: Impaler cannon x6
Shrikes: Boneswords, Scything Talons
Exocrine
HiveGuard and Exocrine makes a shooting castle and HiveTyrant and Shrikes harrass and put pressure on. Genestealers goes for turn 2 charges, maybe turn 1 depending on which deployment.
If I could, I would take the shooting-castle in an own detachment but I cant. Is it more worth to take Kraken? Kronos is very good, but i really like the Kraken-rules.
What do you guys think?!

If your using the tyrants to harass, don't give them MST's, give them double deathspitters. You'll save some points which you can use to buy some more gaunts.
Also think about making 3 of the hive guard take the electroshock guns to hurt vehicles better. You can also give the shrikes deathspitters as well this way.

Double devourers are only better againgst 4+ save models with toughness less than 6.
The deathspitters have longer range, higher str (for shooting at T7 transports), and -1 armor.
If your only taking one shooty rant, the devourers are great for clearing chaff and troop choices, but if taking multiple models with guns the deathspitters will do you better. Since you have plenty of anti-infantry kill power with the genestealers and gaunts already, i'd go with the spitters.

Just noticed the reply here, I think you are mistaken about Deathspitters vs Devourers. The deathspitters are slightly, but not greatly, better against T7 3+, but worse against most common targets.
