I was after Necromunda terrain and found this kickstarter, looks great and perfect for the game called sector-0141-modular-industrial-wargaming-terrain
If you have the cash ready, 4Ground is running a 25% off (and free shipping) cyber Monday sale (its still running today but I'm not sure how much longer). They have a new line of pre-painted laser-cut MDF industrial terrain just perfect for Necromunda. They have one big package deal for around $400US which is already a discount on the individual pieces, which is around $300 with the discount.
I’m putting together my Christmas wish list today so my wife can judge my worthiness to receive. I’m wanting a 3d necro board and I’m thInking of using these two tiles for the base.
They would look awesome with some 3d terrain covering them though!
I have several FW realm of battle tiles and they are things of beauty. Hefty price tag yes but the GW ones aren’t cheap either particularly since you have to buy 6 together.
I will also caveat this by saying I only buy models once a year at Christmas as it takes me that long to paint them. So I buy small amounts of expensive things once. Sadly my days of buying lots of models has long gone!
My main question was does anything he think there are better tiles out there to suit necromunda?
They do look quite cool, but for necromunda they look hard to add more multi level stuff to due to the business and rounded details. However I may just be having a failure of imagination sion
Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
I think you might be right particularly the one with the factory it has very little flat areas. But I still might give it a go!
The only other option is the GW city tiles which are nice but I think they look more like outside than underhive. Or zone mortalis and I have some of those and even though I love them I ain’t painting any more. Also FW have stopped selling the 4 more open tiles as a set for some reason
I was thinking about the Deepcut play mats for simple play surface details. Gives an interesting background that you can put anything you like in a flat surface. There are various urban ruin/Sci fi/industrial versions that are tempting me just now

The deepcut playmats are great! But probably more for players who play a lot. I don’t play a lot and the boards are a year long project that I mess with and only get to play on once in a blue moon, so I prefer something to model.
Secret weapon tiles look pretty good.... will need to investigate further. I never look outside GW really, I should more often.
It's for 4 tiles, you need 16 for a Necromunda table. That'll be 200$. they do look great though, I even prefer them over the GW ones. Got some great Gorka Morka designs too.
Please someone shoot a hole in this if you don't think it'd work, but with the games I've been part of so far one thing has really stuck out to me about the 2D tiles:
You don't need to use them.
And by that, I don't mean you need to use tiles to play 2D, I mean you don't need to use those specific tiles. Unless I'm missing something, any basic 2D map would work just as well for Newcromunda.
So anything from Space Hulk tiles to Christopher West's multiplemap-sets should work, yes?
Yeah - totally. I'm already planning on using the Space Hulk floorplans for games - luckily I have several sets of Deathwing/Genestealer so it won't be just corridors. I also have Deathwatch Overkill (still in it's shrinkwrap), which might even be better.

Indeedydoo. Which gives the 2D style a huge appeal of it's own, as the sheer scope of potential tiles and that is colossal - no game need ever be the same!

DW:O will be more deadly - those tiles are all open gantries (although most of them have barriers) over bottomless pits. Everyone will have LOS to everyone else (with -1 to hit, probably), and falling to one's doom will be rather common. Sounds fun!
This is where the DOOM 1st Ed boardgame tiles will come in handy. Got a couple of sets of that, plus all three versions of Space Hulk, one copy of Deathwing, two of Genestealer, and two sets of Tyranid Attack tiles. And almost every D&D tileset they ever made, and a literal folder of Paizo mapsheets.
Just wondering how useful people are finding pipelines? They are reasonably priced and add bags of character - but do they add much to your games? Barricades and walls are commonplace and more flexible as far as I can see, so is there any point in using the pipes - do they fulfil another purpose I have missed?
Given the industrial nature that tends to get applied to Necromunda pipelines are a necessity in my view. Not many industrial sites don't have someting getting pushe'd about through big pipes.
