Canada Eh?

I am looking to start a few 750-1000 point 30k armies (due to fiances and the lack of any local 30k players so i will need to lend an army) and was wondering how i should go about doing so. BAC is a must however i am more interested in how i should build each army to make it fair and not have single sided games due to low points limiting 30k. I want to have each force fluffy so that they focus less on "whats good" and more on what each legion would have so if you have any suggestions on how to run each army (my starting two armies would be Death Guard and Iron Hands) or if you have experience with lower point games let me know how they have gone and what units i should avoid or what units should be relied upon.

Could try running Zone Mortalis/Blood in the Void games, since they're designed for pretty much that points value.

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

Nottingham / Sheffield

Zone Mortalis is a great way to play smaller games of 30k, and it also allows for more non-standard stuff as certain units don't work in ZM.

Calth and Prospero are great buys for any ZM force.
The MK3 marines can easily be turned into breachers with some boarding shields.

The terminators can be used as either generic terminators or as legion-specific terminators.

A simple way to do balanced forces would be to take a single legion-specific unit then build the rest of the army around it. For example, you could take some IH Immortals alongside a breacher team.
Similarly, a Death Guard contemptor or some grave warden terminators alongside a tactical squad would be cool.

Zone mortalis is the way to go for smaller games.

If you've picked up the Necromunda boxed set it would give you a 3'x3' 2D board to play on as well.

For army composition a lot that I see tend to be build from a delegatus + veteran squads (for the flexibility and weapon options) for the compulsory troops and something else, like a dreadnought or terminator squad.
There are people around here who can offer you good advice on this, I wouldn't say I was one of them.
