This is my first attempt at making an Eldar army list, I can change the list however is needed because I have not bought all of the models yet. This list is not aiming to be competitive, but I’d still like it to be an effective list. I’ve got anti-horde in the Swooping Hawks and anti tank in the Fire Dragons and Dark Reapers. Any constructive criticism would be great.

There's no turning back... Triumph or oblivion.

Looks like a decent starter list, lots to learn there in a 1k list. Drop one dark reaper and then reapers and dragons can both start in the serpent if you want to not get shot turn 1

I think a reroll 1s aura from autarch could be very useful. You have alot of shooting. With the spare reaper points you can probably find it somewhere , e.g. drop warlock too and you are only a few points off. Warlock is more defensive, autarch more offensive. You could also just take wraithlord down to just fists & catapults

Warlock I prefer protect jinx over conceal reveal but v that it's personal preference.

If you haven't bought the models yet I suggest building around at least one Start Collecting box as you already have half the units from there.

Wraithguard with Wraithcannons can fulfil the role of Fire Dragons either keeping the Wave Serpent or using the webway strategem. If keeping the Wave Serpent go for the underslung Shuriken Cannon as well and Spirit Stones make it even more durable.

A War Walker is also a decent platform for heavy weapons, Bright Lances are good anti tank, Aeldari Missile Launchers have the longer range and versatility, Shuriken cannons means you can advance and shoot at full effect unlike the other two where if you move you have -1 to hit and can't advance and shoot.

Best to avoid finecast models if you can too which is an advantage of the start collecting box. If you want to avoid getting rangers as they are finecast min Dire Avenger squads are good and the same price though I would run double Avenger Catapults on the Exarch for 64pts total.

So my suggestions basically boil down to try and take units which are available in plastic and are cheaper to purchase. At some point there will be the entire range in plastic we just don't know when yet

I'm in a similar position to you as I am also just starting to properly collect Eldar, although I have had a small scattering of models at various points in the past. As mentioned above, try to avoid the finecast ranger models if possible; I had some and it's not an experience I'm in a hurry to repeat. The dire avengers could be an alternative if you're not up for kitbashing/converting, but if you don't mind putting some work into it, I've had some good advice from this thread: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/744771.page . The rangers are quite useful in the current edition as they're one of the few units the Eldar have that can target hiding characters.
