Great thing about a military town. Bored housewives spending lost of money on hobbies that they don't follow through with. Got these local for $100. Next will build a proper booth for photographing my completed models.

Ahh very neat find and great price! Get yourself some cables if they didn't come with them and you've got a great lighting setup!

You shouldn't even really need a "booth" with lights like that, a simple backdrop would suffice since the light is already diffused from the umbrellas.



You will, however, have to enter the eternal debate - reflect or shot through!

Never even thought about that. I have always thought reflection was the standard use. They were complete; cables, bulbs, even a large carry bag.

Never even thought about that. I have always thought reflection was the standard use. They were complete; cables, bulbs, even a large carry bag.



Shoot through and reflection give slightly different properties, but generally reflection is the standard. That said for what your shooting, honestly, chances are you'd be hard pressed to see a difference.
