Hey guys, with some more of the old Warhammer Fantasy models being rolled into Age of Sigmar, it looks like I can actually make an army of Elves...Aelves?... using a single allegiance. I have been having a hard time deciding between going all Swifthawk Agents or all Order Draconis.

Swifthawk agents looks like tons of fun based on what I am reading online, but I really cannot stand the Skycutter model. Could I get away not using it? And is the Battalion worth the points?

Order Draconis looks fun, but a little one dimensional... rush forwards and hit stuff.

Any opinions on the two? I am leaning more towards Swifthawk Agents, but would love some input.

Hmm, well even as a fan of the Draconis and showing why cavalry are kings of the battlefield, the swifthawks have more options, the sweet deal of the Dawnspire( with additional formations in it as well) and you can make fluff and terrain for a army coming from a sky fortress.

So definitely leaning towards swifthawks here with Draconis as a possible future side army (though you can proxy the dragon lord as a skycutter and hit two hawks with one swift stone. )

Is it true that the GH 2017 squatted a lot of Battalions? I can't find concrete information on it, and could be blind, but I don't see the Dawnspire box on the GW website either.

Hmm, yeah, it's not on the American site anymore but on some others.

Could be out of stock and the focus on the Christmas sets have them occupied instead.

Their Guardians of DawnSpire formation is on the AoS app as a free download, though.

Not sure about the Battalion squatting, I'll look around to see about that.

Gathering the Informations.

I'm kind of wondering if Spire of Dawn is being rejigged to be able to get the factions released separately to each other rather than some of the shared sprues they have as a "Start Collecting: Swifthawk Agents".

Also worth mentioning that they don't have "sky fortresses" but rather they have aeries scattered throughout the realms. Think mountain fortresses/towers on the mountains rather than sky forts.

Thanks for the help! I was excited when I learned about that Battalion since it provides a few things that just look great both in game and visually with the kind of army that a Swifthawk Agents allegiance makes. Really hope it isn't gone.

The bad news, there's no more Warscrolls Batallions for Swifthawk as per GH2017.
The good news is it probably would have been as prohibitively expensive as most of the other Batallions and you can...mostly...get away without it.
You would only ever have the generic Order allegiance anyway, so the only disadvantage to not being Swifthawk Agents allegiance while sticking to either Agents or Draconis is that Reavers are your only generic Battleline.
So as long as you can field 3 units of 5 of them at 2k, you're good to mix any/all other units together.
So you could easily go mostly Swifthawk with 800pts of Draconis for instance, or toss in a bunch of Swordmasters.

Why not both?

plastictrees,

Thank you for that info. That definitely could be an option. Is there any option (besides Legacy Warscrolls) to use Silver Helms? Or are they still in Limbo as well? But, is there really even any point in running Silver Helms over Dragon Blades?

And are you able to create armies with multiple Allegiances? Do they have to be in separate "formations".

Silverhelms have compendium rules and points, but they are just bad Dragon Blades (and Dragon Blades aren't amazing as it is).

Basically, as there are no High Aelf allegiances with unique command traits etc. the only reason to maintain an allegiance (80% of your points from that allegiance) is to unlock certain troops as battleline.
You'll be using the Order traits, relics etc. regardless.
If you want to go all High Aeld and you're good with Reavers as your battleline then you can really pick any Order units you like.

Thanks again. I am more than fine with Reavers as my battleline since they don't require bulk to be the most effective and use their abilities.
