Hello all,

Anyone has traded with Isthar17? Had a deal for some Batman Minis, at start communication was good, but when models didn't come i inquired proof for this and communication stopped, even mailing him via Paypall did not give any reaction.
If someone can help me here let me know, otherwise beware of trading with him.!

kr,

Valek

I bought a few items from him about a month ago. Didn't have any problems and they arrived promptly. I think others on the thread didn't have issues either.

Are you from Belgium? There is a chance there might be a long delay due to international shipping. I've ordered in miniatures before and one time i remember having to wait almost 8-9 weeks, eventually received the item in a plastic bag in pieces, it seemed like customs had opened the parcel to examine all the components. You might have to just be more patient.
If they don't turn up you could just claim back money via paypal, but it might not be his fault. Ideally he will have kept the proof of postage so you both can get your money back. If he didn't then its unfortunate for him and something any seller needs to make sure they do for anything of value.

We had an agreed-upon transaction for some NIB kits.

Items were paid for and mailed. Some time went by.
Then out of the blue I received a refund informing me that the package had been returned to sender, beat all to hell and with one of the models missing.

So while it was really disappointing that I didn't get my new toys, I'm willing to go out on a limb and vouch for someone who would go ahead and inform/refund me like that of their own accord.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Yeah, when he did send me the boxes I bougth from him (Something like 130€ of miniatures), they where all nicely packaged and in perfect condition. Probably some problem with the postage services.

So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

On a surly Warboar, leading the Waaagh!

Shipping delays are one thing, but no communication from a seller is a screaming red flag. If you paid through PayPal, get a claim in now, DO NOT WAIT!

If you did pay for goods/services or used an invoice there should be an option.

If there is no option did you use pay family and friends or a gift? then you wont be able to dispute it.
If there are notes on the transaction saying what it is for you might be able to just directly use paypal support and they will help you. Gifting used to be a way people used to avoid fees (not sure if it still is) but the downside is there is no seller/buyer protection.

This is not entirely true, and is actually bad advice.

If you paid as "Friends & Family," you need to call PayPal.
You're unable to dispute it ONLINE. But, if you call them, plead ignorance, promise to never do it again, etc., you will almost always find them more than willing to assist.
As an Admin on Bartertown, I've given this advice probably DOZENS of times. Nobody has ever come back and told me Paypal wouldn't help because it was done as a Gift/Friends and Family. Every time, they've assisted.

One caveat: All of my past advice in this manner has been to traders in the US. Not sure if things change when speaking internationally.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Let's keep this about this transaction, not a discussion about using f&f through paypal.

Paypall wont help either, due to using money transfer they won't help me so if someone know him personally or lives nearby... let me know if we can work out something

Did you try what the above person said about contacting paypal via phone and trying to be as nice as possible. Explain the seller is ignoring communication with you.

The seller has had all positive deals here with everyone else except you unfortunately - which likely means its a postal service issue, this isn't uncommon with international post.

The parcel might get returned to sender (will probably take a very long time for that, its 18+ working days for domestic post in the UK so international could be many months!). He might still refund you if that happens, if hes a decent person.

I hate to say it but ultimately if you cant get any money back then you took the risk by not using an invoice/pay for goods with a stranger, there was probably a warning on the screen you paid him on saying no protection with this transfer. Try paypal again but if you don't get anything you might just have to forget it and move on. Lesson learned for next time.

EDIT: I just went back through my paypal account info to when i bought models off this buyer. He added a note to the transaction saying what it was for(each model name and postage) and it is eligible for buyer protection. So i'm not sure why it was done differently for yours?
