To celebrate the unlocking of one of my favourite Space Marine kits to the Blood Angels in the new Codex, I dusted off the one I bought and painted when it was first released and re-photographed it.

Nice job on one of my least favourite marine models Is the scout speeder any better than the standard (One of the worst to-assemble kits GW produces)? I assume it was refined a bit.

I love the kit! But to each his own

It’s some years since I built and painted this, but it was sharper compared to the standard Land Speeder kit from what I remember. Went together fine except the scouts themselves were a bit fiddly to position.

Beautiful work!

How do you do the metal chipping effect? (ie what paints do you use) It's really clear/strong and probably some of the most realistic I've seen.

Thanks!

It's just black followed by Boltgun Metal (I guess the modern day equivalent would be Leadbelcher?) applied with a piece of sponge. Quick, easy and effective!

I really like your stuff! This is awesome. As a BA player I'm tempted to get a storm too even though I'm not sure how often it will make it into my regular lists.

PS. I loved your sanguinary guard and am modelling my own squad after them.
