Was chatting HH with a buddy and I remember a story with the Iron Hands (or maybe Shattered Legions) and Emperors Children which had an Iron Hand character who had been left completely deaf by Noise Marines (which later came in handy during future Noise Marine fights). Cant for the life of me remember which story it was or who the character is. Any help?

It's from Angel Exterminatus if I remember correctly.

Found him, it was Ignatius Numen.

edit: this was totally worth the effort I sunk into it

Wait, was that the story in which the deaf Marine is immune to sonic weaponry due to his deafness?

Because that sounded really, really dumb.

That would be like being immune to lasers because you’re blind. Sonic weapons might not be as disorienting for a deaf person but they’ll split you apart just fine all the same.
