just a check because this is how i'v always been paying it.
you roll for the stats of the flesh metal guns before you select a target right?
e.g.
pick oblits to shoot
roll stats for their guns
pick a target
have at it.

Yes, you roll for stats "When a unit of Obliterators is chosen to shoot in the Shooting phase or in Overwatch". This step occurs before selecting a target for the shooting.

use forward operatives on a alpha legion chaos lord. place him behind them and he can summon the changling so hes in a great position.

Alternatively, just take 3 more Obliterators for the same price as that fuff. And you don't automatically lose a Chaos Lord if you don't go first.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
