Hi was hoping people on here could help me arrange a good balanced army build for a few armies for 50/75 Power point casual games, just for walking into the GW shop nearest me and setting up and playing or setting up and then painting while waiting for a game.
Just I find it hard to balance armies since I'm still so new and would be grateful if the knowledgeable people here could help me by creating a few balanced casual armies for just walking in and playing, for a goal to work towards in my armies and something I can play with get more experience and learn from play to expand or alter the army from experience.
So I would like help for 50&75 power point armies for Dark Eldar, Primaris Marines, Astra Militairum and Adaptus Mechanincas.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

First off, if you want to play balanced games, don't play power levels: power levels are even more unbalanced than points and are very easy to abuse.

Secondly, what units do you have for these armies? Or are you asking for an army you can buy units for?

Just take what you want.

Generally you want a bit of everything. So take a few lascannon equivelents, a few horde clearing units and some middle of the road stuff then take whatever you like.

Honestly its hard to help you with a balanced list since we don't know your meta. As ypu play games review your lists and tweak it to better suit who you're playing against.

For small, power level, fun games, I wouldn't worry too much about balance. Take what you fancy building and painting. Obviously Primaris are going to be a small elite force, probably worth getting either one of the small starter boxes or some easy to build dudes unless you're dead set on converting them. Probably able to sell the DG or even use them as a similarly small force.

I can't really help with Ad Mech or Guard, but DE have some fun stuff. Kabalite's or Trueborn would be an obvious starter, or the Gangs Of Commorragh game if you want bikes (or Hellidon for some reason). You could actually get that box, a box of Wyches and convert one to be a Succubus and have a nice thematic Wych Cult force. Maybe not super competitive but they'd be fast and Combat Drugs are fun to play with.

Best advice I can think of is to get what models you're interest in, build some focused small armies and if you find yourself really lacking in something that hurts your enjoyment pick that up later.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

Well I'm using power levels for casual play and just for a easy and quick way to put armies together then going through all the points till I've gotten more games played.

I'm just asking what people would use, still got some things to grab.

Considering I'm still new and learning things, what would be the horde clearing units for the armies I put up and the middle of the road stuff, as for meta I don't know and I don't want to think or figure out what meta is at my store if there is one, just want to bring in well rounded or balanced army to start off with so I can learn more, get more games and then start tweaking.

Regarding AdMech, they're pretty easy to play at around that level. Take 2-4 of robots with blasters and their character, 1-2 of dunecrawlers with neutron lasers/icarus arrays, and then sprinkle in whatever infantry/FA/Elite choices you think look fun. Personally, I'm a fan of vanguard with plasma calivers and infiltrators with flechettes.

Well I'd still try to get into points as quickly as possible.

My suggestion for guard is to build it very regimentally: get a job lot of Guard online (easiest and cheapest way to get the number of bodies you'l need to run guard), you're looking for 30+ infantry men, Commissars, Scions, Leman Russes and Vendettas. This will give you some chaff infantry to hold objectives and protect your tanks, the tanks give you some anti-infantry (punishers) and anti-armour (lascannons), the scions let you out maneuver your opponent some what with deep strike and the Vendetta is a great anti-flyer, anti-armour gunboat. Gives a nice TAC Guard list that feels some what like a regiment. When you get more into guard, you can then look at Imperial Armour and find out where all the IG gems are hidden.

I played a fair amount of PL, early on. All things considered, it didn't seem particularly poorly balanced. Sure, I can get an artificially large number of points-equivalnet by buying every Sister Superior an Inferno Pistol and Power Axe that I wouldn't have otherwise considered, but I'll never actually use them, so it's really just a formality.

For IG, you can probably go:
TC
3xRuss
2xCC
7xInfantry
1xManticore
for 12+3(10)+2(2)+7(3)+8=75PL

Make sure everything has basically every upgrade possible.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

Would the Admech army on the site be a good start for them then?

I do have the imperium box set for Primaris and some dark eldar I got off ebay.

Will the battleforce be a good starting point then? as for points I wanna stay with power untill I get more games in.

If you're just starting, I would say getting a job lot off of ebay or somewhere similar would be better; maybe ask for the battleforce for christmas. By buying second hand, you can get your hands on a lot of different units and then decide on what you like and don't like, over time you'll be able to refine your army by adding in new models and, if you want to, replacing the second hand models with brand new ones. This is what I did with my chaos: I bought several job lots and over time added in and swapped out new units, finding what units I like and what I don't like at relatively low expense for this hobby.

Get the dark imperium starter, sell the death guard. Use this return to pick up the next expansion of your force.

This gives you 51 power in primaris, right away. Start there play a few games. Find what you think is missing. Speed? firepower? Durability? Whatever it happens to be, then find the unit that fills that void.

Then as a starting point look at
Aggressors
A primaris librarian
Redemptor dreadnought
Reavers
Hellblasters

Dark eldar, oh i would love another player out there. but they are in a rough spot without a codex, i would avoid them starting out. They have some good things but until we see how things are going to play, it is hard to recommend a good place to start that is not index focused. If you don't mind taking a few punches to the face and possibly having to refocus after the codex comes out these guys can be great fun.
Gangs of Commorragh will give you 20 power. Meh currently but fun
Venoms x 4
Trueblood x 3 (4 blasters)
archon x 2
Razorwing jet fighters x2
75 power

Power levels are fine unless you're getting into hyper competitive tournament play.

I would get a start collecting box for a faction that appeals to you.

It won't give you 50-75 PL, but it will give you enough to play some games and figure out what this game is all about, without a sizable investment. And, there aren't a lot of choices you need to make when building that force, typically, so you don't feel like you're making bad decisions.

Don't go out and buy a net list right away. This is a collecting hobby, no one goes from zero to hero overnight. And you don't want to have a massive painting backlog day 1.

While it is all fun and games for you now, eventualy you have to look at the bigger picture and that is simply; what is currently viable.
Of your 4 armies only 1: AM.

Primaries is an expensive elite army that has little survivability whit all the multi dmg wep that exists in 8th. As sutch you will struggle whit table controll and taking objective points.

AdMech is a little better but sadly only fokused around 2-3 units as the rest is very bad.

Dark eldar i know nothing about but it does not have a codex so avoid it untill it gets a codex. Index armys vs codex armys dont go well for the index armys.

And that leaves astra. Some say they are Op some say they have been given a justified compensation for beeing bad for a very long time.
In any case the unit selection and points values are sutch that you can pick pretty mutch whatever you want and still have a fair chanse of winning.
