So I'm off to the London Grand Torny in May. and list construction has begun. I was wondering what the nets consensus on a proper number of models/AT weapondary/Deepstrikers, hoard clearence units/characters was?

I'm used to dealing most of my anti tank firepower by bringing a dozen or so deepstriking plasmaguns with re-rolls, I rarely keep much long range firepower on the board, and try to hover around 100 men. I play very much around absorbing alpha strikes with worthless chaff on the board, and deepstriking almost the entire sensible part of my army in a short ranged alpha strike at whatever the opponents flank is weakest.

But I don't get to go to too many events, so are there any generally accepted levels of firepower/numbers I should be bringing?

I really want to squeeze in a AM/Inquisition/SM list, but I'm struggling with the detachment rules. [No more than one of each detachment, no more than three detachments.] So would just giving up and running straight AM infantry be better. [Really worried about running pure AM infantry due to time constraints.]

Any other advice?

There are three issues for army composition:

1) Killing tanks and monsters. I'd take 40% of the army with high strength weapons, S8 or more, and AP.

2) Infantry coverage. I'd take 40% of the army with medium strength weapons.

3) Teleporting, objective sitters, and fast movement. I'd take 20% of the army.

Is that 40% of your total available firepower, or 40% of your squads having one gun that might do something maybe? How do you feel stacking up things like a SM Devastator Squad, vs an AM Infantry squad goes? One clearly generates a lot more firepower at much better accuracy, but is an easier target.

Is 20% enough mobile units? In a 100 model list, that's basically two squads. That does't feel like much in a game where tabling by turn 3 is likely.

Learn the format of the event before hand.

If it's using the new ITC progressive scoring missions, you'll want to make sure your list is not overly vulnerable to some obvious secondaries.

As an example, you might consider running chaff in blobs of 19, rather than 20, so your opponent scores 1 point per squad removed, rather than 2 points for 20+.

These are approximative numbers. It also depends on your local meta and as said on the missions. Do they require mobility?
Atm, we will see more tanks than in the 7th ed. For instance, Razorbacks have a much higher firepower than they had before.
