Earlier this year, we were shown and told the updated rule set would be out before the end of the year, however due to printing errors the release was pushed back. Does anyone know if FW has given a new release date or timeline?

No idea. Hopefully early next year but no official word.

On semi related note wonder when they update legion red book to include blood&dark angels plus infenro. Would like to get blood angel and custodian rules more affordably. Maybe some balance tweaks along >D

Some minor deduction required, watson..
The warhammer community announcement on 26/10/2017 was likely spurred by confirmation of completion of the print run because it was the first definite statement about the release date since 26/06/2017 when the official date was 'soon'.
The preorder date (03/11/2017) was probably the day that the first batch arrived in the uk (because that is when the goods become property of FW to sell) and the error was noticed.
This gives us an estimate for one part of the delay.
The next part is the time it takes to physically print and bind the first batch.
We can get an estimate by the gap between that time they breifly showed a final draft of it on loose sheets on a twitch stream (20/10/2017) and the announcement of the preorder on 26/10/2017.
That loose copy is likely the copy which will be printed in this country to make sure the file sent to china is fit for production.
Thats pretty swift i think - 8 days in transit, 6 days for printing..
Assuming the printers aren't trying to dispute any wrongdoing the only extra delay will be fitting the surprise extra production run and shipping into the established schedules.

I predict a new rulebook for a new year.

I spoke to one of the designers at the last open day.

They were hoping that the books would be up for pre-order before Christmas, obviously doesn't look like that is going to happen.

As for the fault with the book, it was the laminate on the cover of the book. The one they had on display had quite a few bubbles going down the spine and that was apaprently on of the better books.

Well if you have 7th ed rulebook already don't see why not. It's tweaks rather than whole redesign. Army list red books won't be changed yet and who knows when their next redesign is due for. Waiting for THAT would be silly(why not wait for the next update as well?).

Don't BUY 7th ed rulebook now since updated version is coming but army list books? Sure. Models? Sure. Unless you plan your army for invisibility(gone) you are good.

I'm just hoping they don't follow suit with GWs no model, no rules idea.

Means my sister's of silence army would vanish.

FW has long tradition of releasing rules well before models so I wouldn't worry about that. They have much more practical view of it.

I'm so glad I was wrong and that FW is getting this out. Maybe not in time for Christmas, but that's OK. I thought we wouldn't see it until March! This is fantastic!
