I tried to start my first painting post, and my Flickr pics will not show in the window. The link works fine, but the picture itself is a red x. Over on several other boards, the code works fine. Is there an issue with Dakka and pics?
I make a private (only I can view it) Facebook Album, and post the photos to it, and link them on here with the IMAGE button on the posting. Working out well for me for the last few years.

Flickr should work without issue, I use the following method when posting from there
1) Upload the photo to flickr; click on it to open the photos page up
2) On the photos page hover over the picture and you should get an icon appear on the lower right corner - looks like an arrow pointing at a flat line
3) Click it and in the menu that appears go to "view all sizes"
4) On the new page pick the size you want to embed into the forum from the auto-generated sizes.
5) When you've clicked the size you want right click on the photo and "copy image url - copy image address" (term varies based on browser software).
6) Come to Dakka and in a post reply box put
[ img ] paste the link you just copied here [ /img ]
Do that without the space between the brackets (spaces stops the code activating).
The image should now appear. Because flickrs TC prefers you to have a link-back I tend to throw a linkback to my flickr profile in my signature (or to the gallery that houses the photos that fit the set I'm uploading).
Note I don't use flickr for my miniature photos (this is my approach on photography forums).
