So this happened to my opponent.

We had some crucial big units locked in hth. On his turn he charged another unit of marines on the other side of the board into one of my units.

Is this correct then:

He had to fight his charging unit first. Then I was able to use the stratagem to have the previously unit in hth go next and he had NO recourse to get his guys to fight me in the critical fight phase even if it was his turn?

So by him having a unit charge on the other side of the board really hurt his chances in the important Fight phase in the middle.

Did we play that right>?

If so Charges may hurt you if the opponent has enough CPs left.

yep thats the rub, and why you want to steer clear of an ALL melee army. 1 or 2 big melee elements will keep you from having to bother with such issues. It's why i run 2 big clouds of shining spears.

Wait what? They still get to fight later, unless you killed them all.

They still get to fight later yes, but by then they'll already have lost because their numbers have dwindled.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.
