Hi, I'm interested to know what people playing Eldar thinks are the best/cheapest cannon fodder unit for the Eldar. I used to use Razorwings but since the errata, the unit price for them went up... :/ So maybe there is a new and better choice?? can be from both the Eldar and Dark Eldar army list.

I need them to take sudden charges, from ex. deep strike units, on my long range units, like fire prisms and dark reapers. I was thinking Dark Eldar warriors since they can come in groups of only 5. And normal Eldar warriors have to be minimum 10?

Well, Eldar has no throw-away units.
After all, the Guardians are poets and philosophers.

The best way to prevent an alpha strike is to set up Rangers (or any other infiltrating unit) in front of your army.

If you're literally looking for the cheapest option to shield your better units then kabalite warriors are a good choice. But even with the point increase I think razorwings might still be better due to the extra wounds.

I don't think the craftworlders have anything to match that. I use Storm Guardians with flamers. It's more points but can dish out some decent overwatch damage.

It really depends what metric you use, because shielding can be provided by dying instead of important units (so here you want a good point / wound ratio), or by denying the opponent parts of the board.
Eldars don't have good enough chaff, as even guardians/kabalites are too expensive to sacrifice (they're useful, but they need to kill stuff to be worth it).
However, rangers are very efficient at denying board area. They're good enough to block pretty much every T1 DS shenanigans.

Pawns in Eldar? LOL there are no Pawns in eldar.

Use RWF or Rangers to stop Alpha strikes or deployment shenanigans

Another option is to take a Flyer detachment and place them on the front flanks of your army. Only models with Fly can charge those, so it should stop 90% of turn 1 assaults. Just be wary of Jump units.

I personally take a combo of Hemlocks and Rangers. The hemlocks block the sides of my army, the Rangers get places about 9" in front. Make sure there is a "deadzone" between these units and your main army, that way you can keep the enemy back in case you need to move back. (don't deploy anything within about 6" of your table edge to give yourself room)
