Hi everyone! Myself and some mates have just decided to start collecting 40k again with the new edition, but we are still getting a grip on the new rules. I thought this forum may provide some answers to questions we have.

I now have a 1500 points Harlequin army, and a sizeable Emperor's Children army from back in the day that I am re-working.

It's a great time to come back to the hobby.
GW is really making an effort to bring back old gamers - a lot of service in the rules for older models, and a growing resale market is creating some collectors value on models.
The game is also a lot like third, in that it has a great pick up and play mechanic.
I've lapsed in and out of the game many times but this is a period of time where I am finally feeling the love for orks in terms of competitive gaming potential.

Orks have a lot of potential for reworking existing models, and I get a ton of satisfaction out of it. GW has to work hard to get me to spend more money but at the same time: they are releasing solid models, the reformulated paints are (mostly) a lot better. The kit bundles have a lot of value in them but I would still advise this:

If you're going to make any lists or spend any amount of time debating wargear options: always magnetize if you can.
GW will always pull out of their bag of tricks a new edition that makes previously great wargear crap, and crap wargear great, and they are promising to release new adjustments a lot more frequently which by all appearances they are doing.
Hence the humble magnet creates much forward compatibility.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...

Hey and welcome (back)!

I agree as well, this edition seems really cool to come (back) to 40k. That's why I also picked it up now!
