I'm new to the warhammer universe, and support me up to various tools to make sure my models comply with current rules. Here is my question about an Ultramarine Intercessor sergeant.

Can such a sergeant have a bolt rifle. According to the codex, I do not see a problem, but battlescribe forbids me?

Bolt rifle is the default equipment according to the codex.
That's all you really need to know. YMDC isn't for battlescribe errors.

There's a lot of people that try to use Battlescribe as a substitute for having the rules, and it's just not, nor does it claim to be. It's an awesome tool, but as a community built resource with its own technical limitations there are loads of instances of it not representing the rules totally accurately.

As a rule of thumb, if the codex says you can do a thing and Battlescribe says you cant then it's probably an issue with Battlescribe.

HOWEVER, always check the FAQs and errata for your faction too.

You can give an Intercessor sergeant a bolt rifle in Battlescribe, providing the rest of the squad have the same weapon.

Some implementations of the Intercessors have the weapon selection acting for the whole unit (the main Space Marines catalogue works this way), rather than individual models, given that the whole unit has to have the same weapon anyway.
