The script which posts threads to Facebook is promoting a locked thread. From the timeline, I believe (but am not 100% sure) that the thread was locked at the time it was posted, which I presume this is not the intended functionality. Not sure how hard it would be to code a check in there.

edit: I think the thread wasn't yet locked at the time it was promoted. Please disregard.

I would say that the facebook script is my least favorite thing about dakka. It often promotes some of the worst threads on facebook and showcases the dark, argumentative, bitchy/whiny side of dakka.

It is something brought up a few times before on the DCM forums as something that should be worked on or at least a bit more tightly moderated so we don't see gak every time we open Facebook.

Until that day comes we're sadly stuck with an imperfect system, that as one mod put it: "The Dakka Facebook Page is run by Kitchen Bots, with Passport Bots and Digital Movie Bots picking up the slack doing Kitchen Bot downtimes."

Well, we are working on something that will prevent the controversial (and quite often locked) threads from showing up there.

No idea on a timeframe though...

That would be awesome.

What if it just like uses the exalt feature and only promotes the top rated threads to try to show some of the better content at the time? At least I don't think the problem threads would be exalted enough to end up in the top threads section anyway.

Maybe. I sometimes Exalt posts where someone does a creative smackdown in a heated exchange.

You can be angry as long as it's funny.

It also seems to be a contributor to ye olde threadcromancy, as it promoted this 6 year old thread recently.
