Currently I have two units of five blood warriors, the bloodsecrator, bloodstoker, juggerlord, Korghos Khul, a slaughterpriest, 3 khorgoraths, and skarbrand. I'm working on the other 3 thirsters for a Council of Blood.

Seems like the council could be pretty strong, I'd try to launch skarbrand in there with an extra attack for carnage (the scary axe). But for battleliners with the council should I get bloodletters instead?

I love my khorgoraths, they've served me well even before blades of khorne. Now they seem really good in a skulltake battalion. I'm thinking perhaps making the skulltake and making 3 more khorgoraths and pumping them up with the portal, slaughter priest, and maybe an allied sorcerer for daemonic power.

The skullreapers look like they could do some damage too with daemon blades. Anyone tried them out? Not a cheap investment for two kits for a skulltake battalion.

What about wrathmongers? They look neat, but probably break a lot with those chains. They have 2" range and add an attack for all melee weapons for models within 3" of them. That could also make all of my big guys more punchy but hard to keep them in range of the faster ones.

I'm a firm believer that every Khorne list should include a Gore Pilgrims battallion, so I'd get two boxes of Bloodreavers and another Slaughterpriest. You'd be surprised how durable the chains are on Wrathmongers. They're a solid unit that buffs everything around them, but keep in mind that they also buff your enemies near them. Make sure you choose their battles wisely.

Hmmm, the Pilgrims is a good battalion. I think a first turn charge with something all buffed up would be very possible with that extra portal distance. Gotta do some thinking now....

I also recommend skullcannons. Khorne has no artillery, except for those. Couple of pot shots early can help stuff get across the field.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

second to the pilgrims.

My wrathmongers perform very well in my competitve list but sometimes have problems keeping up. especially in missions with many objectives spread far apart. They are very good if you can keep formation though.

Council of blood can be very strong if played right and you definitely need the speed on a couple buffs to get some punch into that first wave.
Btw WoK + bloodstoker make a dirty combo to let a unit charge turn 1.

And @ 2500 play pilgirms + council, if my math does not fail me you can even add a stoker and a blob of 30 bloodletters, but at that moment you have to be aware that you are playing a rather competitve game...

Only problem with Council of Blood is the cost, both in points and in real buy-burrito-with-it-money. Very cool formation, but you don't have many points left over for the rest of the army.

I am converting my old tiny Bloodthirsters into modern ones using the new weapons bits on giant mounds of skulls for comical proportions I think just using the Wrath and Rage ones, plus Skarbrand (who is the modern size Thirster) will be good for the Council, and only like half of my usual Sigmar tournament points.

Pilgrims must be a cheaper battalion with those Bloodreavers right? I haven't checked it yet. At least that gets me some Battleliners. And for me, Khorne is big scary small model count armies. Nurgle and Slaanesh get model counts.

Gore Pilgrims requires 1 Bloodsecrator, 2-3 Slaughterpriests, 1-2 Blood Warriors, and 1-2 Bloodreavers, so the minimum cost is 570 pts, but this would be just 10 Reavers, and I don't recommend that. I actually recommend taking at least a group of 10 Warriors and two groups of 20 Reavers. The battalion fully satisfies your minimums on a 200 point list, and you're free to take whatever else you want.

Maybe a gaunt summoner on foot as an ally?

He is everchosen so can ally, and helps a ton vs hordes.
