Just bought the new models from Rubicon. While I’m waiting for them to come in, I’m curious if anyone here has had any experience with fixed AT guns in Bolt Action and can chime in on how well (or not) they’ve worked for their game, and if they have a preference (and why) for either gun.

Currently, I’m thinking I’ll be fielding the pak 38 more often, from an ambush position. Ruleswise, doesn’t look like you can reposition it once set, so I figure it will only really come in handy setting it up to keep vehicles/tanks off objective points.

I use my Pak38 for sneaky ambush shootiness. Not overly survivable, but devastates light armor and soft skin vehicles at reasonable range. I am ordering a Pak40 in the near future for better AT use against tanks proper.

The mobility of the 38 is a real positive. If you play with lots of terrain the pak40 has to be deployed very carefully, unless you pony up for a tow.

I actually skipped ordering the pak40, and got a pak36 and the 38 instead. With the special ammo upgrade the 36 can actually be surprisingly effective on boards with lots of los blocking terrain, like a town or heavy woods.
