well good day folks new to the site and to 40k, well kinda.
used to collect to paint when i was younger tau where my choice just down to the look of them fish look b*****ds
but now ive decided to collect again but to learn to play this time around, ive gone for the newb choice of ultras i know i know ive read enough of people hating on these 'ultra smurfs' but though theyd be bes choice to get a hang of playing etc etc.

So got a few bits and pieces and the moment and waiting on codex and other stuff to arrive, what im needing is a bit of help of where to go next dont want to post in here as its the intro page but if people can link/share the right place to post id be awesome

What do you exactly want to post? There are many subforums for different things. There's usually a good description of what kind of stuff is discussed in each section. For example there's the painting subforum, tactics, army lists, etc.

Ultramarines get hate mostly because GW focus so much of them in the lore, because of Guilliman, and because of a GW writer by the name of Matt Ward*.

Few people dislike Ultramarine players, they dislike GW's approach to the lore. You'll be fine.

*If you want to know more about Matt Ward and why he's a meme in the 40k community, you can google him. Prepare yourself for enormous amounts of vitriol and hyperbole if you choose to do so though.
