First things first.
Marvel Unlimited is a thing. If you've got a tablet, it's awesome. Pretty much every single marvel comic that's older than 6 months is available on there, at around half the price of a netflix subscription. That's over 14000 comics...
As for physical comics, I've been reading various
DC ones.
I think my favourite has been the "Wonder Woman Rebirth" trade paperbacks. They're great stories, really really great and the version of Wonder Woman portrayed in them is brilliant.
The only problem is, they tried to be clever with the ordering of them and it's kind of a mess. Seriously great stories though, but the order for everything to make sense is kind of.
Book 2 (Year One), Book 4 (Early years), Book 1, Book 3, Book 4 (Epilogue)
I've read the "
DC Trinity Rebirth" trade volume 1. That's pretty good as well and entertaining seeing the main 3 interact. Wonder Woman has some awesome moments at the start.
I've also recently read the "Batman Rebirth" volumes 1-5. I don't really have much to say about them, they're good Batman stories, and there's some really great Catwoman things in it. Oh, and
Good Boy which is an *excellent* short comic, with all the feels. - Go click on that link and read that!
But yeah, the thing with Batman is, I kinda don't rave about it, because it's sort of expected to be enjoyable and good and since the character is so well known and things, it may not always stand out. Whereas, for example, Wonder Woman is very new to me and so more exciting.
The main thing I'm reading right now though, is the Injustice series - Years 1-3, which, considering it's a video game, is way WAY WAY better than it should be.
I'm onto Year 3 now, and well...
I'd like to say it's
DC's "Game of Thrones" but that's super unfair. Sure, it's somewhat on the darker side of things - Characters DO die in it, and lots of them. But it's kind of interesting how they do it...
For example, a major 'good' character is killed by Superman, the scene then cuts to a flashback of Superman stopping to help a teenager who fell off of his bike.
It's sort of like. "Ok, this is a story with a finite ending (the opening of the Injustice computer game), so lets tell a story the way books are written, without the whole, 'putting the toys back in the toybox once we're done with them' that normal comics do."
