Hi there,
I will soon beggin to assemble my necromunda boxe, so I would like to know: are these models able to be magnetized or are the Escher too small ? And, is there any advantage to do so, or just gluing them like the named ones in the book is enough ?
Thanks !

Personally i don't think its worth magnetising. The Escher models in particular have pretty slender arms making fitting the magnets fiddly. Also I don't think there are a huge number of viable different options. Add in in the small number of models needed then it's probably more cost effective just to buy a second box of models to do alternate load outs. Remember that holstered pistols could be any type of pistol. I suppose you could sling long arms using magnets on the back of the model.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

It’s not really worth it imo - I built up 5-6 gangers to start campaign and will make more as the campaign goes on - as they can die or get maimed easy you don’t really want a lot of expensive gangers - best to have a few lasgun/stub cannon dudes to eat dirt.
Personnly I’ll be picking up a second box of every gang and few weapon packs to expand the gangs core dudes and build alt set ups for my champions/leader(if you really want to magnetise do your leader and/or champs as they can swap out loadouts and have more access to the tasty guns/beaties)

Magnetizing at this level will probably just become painful.

I have my basic gang put together. As the campaign progresses, I'll be able to see how I want to reconfigure my Leader/Champs and whip up new models from there.

In most cases, you probably won't be converting your basic gangers as they're mainly supernumeraries in this edition.

I got the Eschers done, and only had 1 casualty where I put the magnet in the wrong way. Only the default loud-outs so far, with as many arms yet to do.
1.5mm x 2mm long for torsos and bulky arms.
2mm x 1mm disks for small shoulders.

Polarities are opposites, with N facing out of the left side, and S out of the right. Since the magnets are in line, they don't push each other out.
Looking at the future books, with more options coming, magnets will be wanted more. Do it now, and save effort later.
Only the gang leader model needs to be glued. Cut the arms and swap them as special ones later.

How much did you spend on magnets for this? Seems like you'd need a lot!

9 models with basic kit using 4 magnets each = 36 magnets
A pack of 50 magnets is £3.43 (2x1mm) to £4.43 (1.5x2mm)
That pack leaves 50-36=14 magnets for more arms.

It must be your magnetic personality

I haven’t bothered magnetising my goliaths as the angled arm connection points scare me. From what I’ve seen of Orlock they should be fairly easy to magnetise

I'm doing the Goliaths, but the angled shoulders are an issue, yes.
I think I'll stick a pin above the magnets, to keep the arm in position.

I think I am going to forgo magnetizing this go around.

I am toying with the idea of just buying another box of my gang to keep on hand. That way if the need for another load-out comes up I can just use one of those extra models.
