Hey!
So I'm currently working on terrain for our local club, which is currently mostly playing 40k and Mordheim and thought I'd share the process as well as all my templates I've made for them.

Here's a graveyard I just finished for my Mordheim table:

I made templates for the graveyard, which you can find here: https://miscastterrain.itch.io/
They look a bit like this:

and a tutorial for the assembly:

And here's a 40k Ork Building, for a themed table I'm working on

and there's a tutorial for that too:

Next up will be the start of my multilevel mordhieim table build

Enjoy

Hi there, love your channel, nice to see you posting on dakka. Always good to see cheap, high quality terrain with easy to follow instructions. Looking forward to seeing more!

Cheers! I thought Dakka might be a good way to showcase some of the stuff I'm working on that I'm not making videos for

Great results with what you've done so far. The graveyard is truly dark and foreboding. The shingling is perfect. I watched the tree tut vid as well. How often do you have to perform repairs from normal use? They look great but perhaps a bit fiddly when it comes to durability. I'm the only person in my game group that builds terrain and my stomach sinks every time something breaks.

You've got a lot of video tuts! I'm going to watch them all. Glad to have come across this thread, thanks for posting it and thanks for sharing your work on Dakka, you've excellent at what you do.

I take my terrain to my gaming club each fortnight, I'm yet to make any repairs. I stress test and refine all the builds before I make a tutorial because all my stuff gets used, abused, and crammed in a box, and I'm assuming everyone else's will too. Using pretty tough wire and modelling epoxy is a great combination for a durable tree. If you want to be extra confident, I've started storing my fiddly bits, and pieces that fall into the bottom of boxes in my Chapel foamboard building (Theres a tutorial and template for that one too). Its got lots of space to fit things in and you can use it as terrain too.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Onto updates! Thought I'd try something new today, here's some work in progress pics of some paper craft terrain I'm working on.

First I started with a 1:1 sketch

Then recreated it in illustrator using the same 5mm grid

Then I imported it into Cinema 4D and made it 3d, textured it and added some lighting.

Unfortunately I ran out of credits on the texture website I use, so I have to cut working on it short, for another week. But next week I'm going to add a layer of much needed grime and start working on the next 3 sides

When its finished I want to make pieces that can be glued onto foam board or corrugated cardboard to create a 2.5 effect and add some dimension.

Cheers!
More soon!
