Before Star Wars: Legion from FFG and Star Wars Miniatures from WOTC, there was Star Wars Miniatures Battles from West End Games. Watch us test drive this great retro Star Wars game from the days of lead miniatures.

Awesome! I have the old WEG RPG, but have not been able to source these rules. I recall looking at them many times, but not having the cash as a youngster.

Thanks E. We found copies of all three books at a used book store, but they're also available on Amazon and eBay. Not expensive at all if you don't mind a used copy. We paid between $10 and $20 apiece for ours.

Wow, I fondly remember that game! I had two of the books, and a slew of the miniatures. Sold them all on eBay years ago when times were tough. Wish I had them still. I held on to the WEG Star Wars RPG rules, and a few of the supplements, but they ended up being stolen. I think FFG has released a special anniversary edition of the RPG rules, but of course with Legion the old miniature rules won't see the light of day.

So a YouTube viewer just informed me that all of the Star Wars Miniatures Battles rule books are available online as open-source PDFs (with the author's blessing) at a site called D6 Holocron.

Here's the link, if anyone's interested: http://www.d6holocron.com/downloads/wegminiatures.html

Woot woot! Thanks for the heads-up!

I can't wait to try them with my old Star Wars Micro Machine dudes.

This was the first game that introduced me to wargaming. Then we dabbled in Rogue Trader. The following year, GW debuts Warhammer 40K 2nd edition and the rest is history.

I think these rules would work well with the WotC Star Wars minis. I might look into them if they are free, as I've got boxes full of those prepainted minis that are just taking up space.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

I remember seeing this played at conventions in the 90s. Man the figs were expensive too
