Hi all.

So Im durdeling around with the idea to get back to the hobby and into 8th for the first time and am pondering to take up Ad Mech.

The Idea is to make a late 19th century preusian inspired army in 40k with focus on Cavalry.

I have not played in a long time so I need some help in tweeking the list. The idea is to infiltrate with my 2 Dragoon units and the infiltrators to get some charges, and since I will go with Stygies 7 they will be well protected, giving the enemy -2 to hit the Dragoons.

The list is a Battalion and a spearhead. I might split up the Vanguards into 6 units of 5 and get rid of the Plasma for Arc Weapons to put in an extra Engineseer to give me 9 total CP instead of 7. Not shure what is better though.

So any ideas on the concept or on how to tweak the list?

Yeah. And with -2 to hit Dragoons who can infiltrate and charge turn 1 with insane damage output if I need overkill, (Conqueror Doctrina Imperative gives 3 hits on 4+ instead of 6+), this list can be quite nasty I think.

Out of interest are you not using Electro-priests due to slower move speed?
Once they score a kill on the Fulgurites the 3++ is incredible.

Just an FYI you can't take 3 special weapons in your vanguard squads unless they are 10 man squads. Less than 10 you can only take 2 special weapons

EDIT: nvm I didn't read the list breakdown properly. I thought it was only 6 guys in the squad.

Thanks. I'm not using the Priests since I don't really like the models that much. Im way to much into Skitarii for my own good

Why not take the Flechette Blasters & Taser Goads on your Infiltrators? The chance for extra hits in melee is great. Plus with the Conqueror Doctrina Imperative Stratagem you can give them a +1 to their hit rolls in the Fight phase and boost the chance for extra hits. The same stratagem will work wonders with your Dragoon units as it will grant a +2 because of the Broad Spectrum Data-tether. No matter I do love seeing a more punchy Admech list and I love the focus on Skitarii units

Maybe a silly question, just getting back into 40k and starting to build an AdMech army.
Can you spend the 1cp Clandestine Infiltration twice at deployment for your 2 Dragoon units? I was under the impression you could only use 1 Stratagem per turn.
Curious b/c this is somewhat similar to the Army I've been comprising atm and I really like the look of your army set up.

Yes. The Matched Play restriction on stratagems is that you can only play the same stratagem once per PHASE. DePloyment isn’t a phase and is done prior to the battle beginning
