I wanted to make my guard army have a very ragged look, so I'm trying to give them autoguns and other weapons from the Chaos Cultist sprues. Only thing is, it's really hard to swap around the hands and stuff because the cultists hold weapons using the opposite hands the Guardsmen use. Is there any way to do this?

Didn't know that before, but since I have some Chaos Cultist parts already and I don't want to either wait several weeks to buy parts on ebay or spend $40 at the store I'm afraid I'll be sticking to Chaos Cultists.

Probably work

I'd have to see the autoguns, but when I do bolters on cadians for acolytes, I just use the Cadian lasgun arms that don't have the left hand attached to the lasgun and cut the lasgun off. Then I use the left arm/hand piece and the right crooked arm, and i just trim up a space marine bolter until it fits flush. It's tedious work, but it's the best way to do something like that.

The really annoying thing is that there's only one of those arms per 10 cadians IIRC.

Wouldn't it be easier to get some 3rd part autoguns? Can't be that much more expensive than boxes of cultists for guns anyway.

Why not get 3rd party weapons from Anvil Industry, Mad Robot, etc? Does it need to be 100% GW?

You can either just replace the arms wholesale on the Guard miniatures. Alternatively, cut the guard arms just below the shoulder pad and replace with the the lower parts of the cultist arms. Problem solved.

Or get the FW auto gun arms from their cultists.

I've been using the Anvil Industries Widowmaker rifle as an Autogun - they're very affordable and look great! Here's the link, let me know if you'd like to see a pic of one on a guardsman

STG, those look pretty nice - were those off those quick-assemble boxes? I have one of those kicking around I thought to use for Necromunda.

Also, does the regular Cultist box usually have many left over weapon Bitz? Not planning on running Chaos or anything but it would be cool to eventually have a couple of cultists or something.

Aye, that's the one I've got. Looks like that's all the cultist poses, too - rather unfortunate.

Plus you get 9 or 10 of them in the box, and a bunch of shotguns that can be easily converted with a little effort.
