I've had commissions to do quite a few nice Kingdom Death minis, and I thought I should show them off together.

Since this weekend will see the end of the campaign, I figured I'd post up another Kingdom Death mini. This time, it is the Manhunter- one of the monsters from the game.

This is the plastic version, and I created the base mostly from scratch, with one GW bit thrown in there.

I'll be making a chibi of him someday...

I've had the chance to paint up a lot of Kingdom Death miniatures, but I haven't gotten around to posting most of them.

Here are some of the survivor and promo miniatrues that I was commissioned to paint up. They're at a level similar to what I normally do for RPG heroes.

Ok, while I am still working on the All Chibi Kingdom Death set, I don't want anyone to think that I don't truly love the minis Adam Poots puts out.

So here's a thread for the regular Kingdom Death stuff that I paint up.

Here's one that I got to paint for a client (I haven't painted my own Tyrant yet, either the normal or chibi form).

I really love the pride the sculpt presents- his Apathy and condescension really worked for me.

I've also posted him to CMON along with a shot of his back, for anyone who is into voting and whatnot.

Wow.. Absolutely stupendous stuff here, don't know where to start (other than it generally bring amazing!)

Totally see what you mean about the characters face at the end there, looks like a Varis from GoT, but with a nastier edge.

I need to check this when I'm not on my phone and can look at the pictures. I also need to get back to painting my KD stuff. Btw how do you like their hard plastic and resin as materials?

Really characterful and with great attention to detail you've painted these, friend. Really dig the subtle blending! Grand work!

Most of these are plastics. The only one in resin here is the Warrior (the girl with red hair standing on a giant maggot with a humanish face).

The dragon king is a very majestic mini. Like most Kingdom Death minis, he's exquisitely detailed, and simply oozes character.

In addition, he's also large enough that it is hard to get a photograph of him that keeps everything in focus.

I was very happy to have a chance to paint him up. I got to do a lava face base for him (something that I'll probably do something like this on my own Dragon King when I get around to painting him up).

But enough words:

Wow.. wow..

You've actually managed to make that look frightening . I'm not sure what it is, maybe the eyes.

That's a very difficult thing to achieve with a miniature - well done !

Thank you.

To be perfectly honest, I've never really studied what makes something frightening, so I don't know that I could tell you either. It might have to do with the fade to black on the face, combined with the high contrast eyes and teeth (and that's going to partly be the sculpt with its sort of human set of teeth).

The Dung Beetle Knight is one of Kingdom Death's more iconic monsters, and one of the more difficult ones to deal with. Here is a DBK that I got to do for a client.

The mini is absolutely fantastic- the hardest thing about painting him is that he's been painted up very well quite a few times before- it is a little bit tough to make him unique and awesome at the same time.

I shaded and highlighted the green with some contrasting colors to give him the effect you see here.

That's a really, really nice job.

Actually think that's the best example colour-wise I have seen of that mini, it works really well!

Thanks.

It is a bit more vibrant than I've seen him done before. Now I've got to come up with something to do on my own Dung Beetle Knight.
