My brother and I went to see George Takei speak at a mini SciFi event in Fairbanks, Alaska, back around 1978 or '79. I bought a couple of weird Star Wars miniatures at the merch table. Yeah, apparently they were not officially licensed products...

Isn't he a little short for a stormtrooper?

He looks like a chibi!

Just because 30 year old allegations are made doesn’t mean they actually have substance. Some people have a train of people making allegations, Takei doesn’t.

Maybe not the thread for it, but I remember when Craig Charles was accused of rape, and as a big Red Dwarf fan in my younger years, it really affects my enjoyment of the show and the character he played. He was acquitted completely, which makes me less certain of jumping on bandwagons with other public figures, unless the evidence is obvious or witnessses overwhelming.

Takei's are hardly among the more egregious #metoo allegations though. If I remember correctly people were felled for a lot less than just the stuff he never denied. He just got away with it somehow cause he blamed Russia (yea, I don't get it either)

On topic:The stormtrooper is totes cute. Can't imagine how it didn't get an official release

I guess for personal casts from back then, they’re okay. Better than I could likely do. But I find them hideous, personally.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Not the ugliest miniatures I've ever seen. But certainly novel enough that I'd have bought them, too.

We dug up some historical info on these figures, if anyone's interested. Apparently Heritage Pewter and Archive Miniatures both had unsanctioned Star Wars lines. Here's the link: http://skirmishwargames.com/heritage-star-wars-miniatures/

I really want to take a small plier and straighten out that gun barrel.

They're old enough to still probably have lead in the WMA mix, so no pliers needed.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I actually have somewhere (or had) a couple of these robots and the space centaur. I also had the big battle robot and the android, but they went to the dump 25 years ago in the post-college gaming purge. I had completely forgotten about them until I saw the photos. Very cool.

Cool stuff.
Not surprised at all to hear they're from Heritage. They certainly have the heritage "aesthetic".

I give them a half-a-pass for weak sculpting based on their age, but when you look at the fantastic stuff t Tom Meier was sculpting for Ral at the same time it does make it hard to chalk weak sculpting up to "early days".
