Thought this might be of interest. GW Japan is doing a second series of space marine minis. This time it looks like they will be doing terminators.

Very cool, I'd like to see more of these done (though they continue to wildly undermine the silly prices of GW for single mono-pose characters).
I'd like to see some which I could actually use. The last range didn't really have anything I wanted. They could have struck gold if they had done a series with a custom model from various races too...

My Lootin’ Group has a chap in Japan who can provide Link is in my sig, and his post is usually somewhere near the top.
It contains the prices and all, which is useful!

The GW community site also mentioned that they are trying to work out how to get people outside of Japan access and to keep an eye on the 40k facebook page for more info

Was the quality on these things worth having someone hunt them down? I saw them, and they didn't look like anything special, more a novelty.

The quality looked quite good from what I saw, but yes they were simply novelties.
What made me laugh though is they were nicely done mono-pose plastic single figures...yet oddly selling for a mere fraction of what a similar $35-40 "Character" sells for in 40K, where GW constantly states it's a cost result of manufacturing, etc.

I got a box--two full sets--one for my son's Xmas present, another set for myself. That's a dozen unique individuals, quite detailed and all posed more dynamically than a standard tactical marine. At the end of the day, though, they are still Space Marines, which is why I haven't gotten past assembling one of them.

I'm continually amazed that I'm actually in Japan but I have to travel to Singapore as the closest gw shop. Utterly bizarre they don't put a store in Okinawa...you know the place with 50,000 American military men that love their products.

If you don’t mind paying WAY too much, there is a shop in American Village that sells GW stuff. I can’t remember the name but I think it had “dragon” in it.

Issue isnt really with buying things, since we all have "US addresses" via the post office but the confusion over why GW doesn't put a store where there is a virtual captive audience that already knows and plays their games... rather than chase the market on main land which has them as the "foreigner" and the people are in tiny homes and like anime figurines a lot more!

You know these weren't made by GW, though? And were intended for completely different market?
Kirasu wrote:rather than chase the market on main land which has them as the "foreigner" and the people are in tiny homes and like anime figurines a lot more!
Uh, you are aware that anime is fringe in Japan? It's nowhere near as popular, as, say, models, and Japan companies produce models of literally everything, even 1:1 replicas of actual firearms and historical/ SF/fantasy kits easily as good as best western ones. Ever heard of Tamiya? Aoshima? Hasegawa? Kyosho? Trying to introduce 40K as SF kits for that public makes a lot of sense...

More details about series 2 have appeared. Looks like this time there will be 6 terminators. ¥4630 for all 6.

The first series was nice but not special enough to go to the effort of tracking them down (if they get released over here I'll snap them up) but I love me some terminators so I'll be after these guys.

The paints are 4600. Or are the paints the same price as the figures? The sign on the right is too blurry.
I'm curious about the paint set too. Can't read what's included in it.
Site hasn't been updated for the new series yet either. Makes me sad when I see the closest store is about an hour and a half local train ride just to a Yodobashi Camera that may or may not actually bother to carry these.
I'll be there in June, but I don't they'll release that quick. I'll keep my eyes peeled regardless.

Hmm... will this series be able to peak Space Hulk's Terminators, the best terminators miniatures ever made by GW?

The fact they have dynamic poses and are generic already gives them a leg up on the Space Hulk terminators for everyone but Blood Angels players (or people willing to devote tons of time customizing the SH Terminators). As a Blood Angels players, I would still lean toward the SH Terminators. But for my Crimson Fists or Deathwatch, these look pretty darn good.

I tried talking to GW but they couldn't even give me an answer if they were able to mail order them from a Japan GW store to an address in Japan.

What applies to mainland Japan doesn't really apply to Okinawa. That's why I specified, since we have a massive American military presence which loves all types of wargames.
