Hello all,

Today I came into the "Get Started" nurgle box for a steal... $20 from a local guy who didn't want it anymore (its missing the nurglings lol).

My question is, if I convert the Plague Drones into Daemon Princes, would ya'll see an issue with this during tournaments? Secondly, has anyone does this and what were the results?

I like the Daemon Prince model, but its not... nurgly.... enough in my eyes (and the Nurgle DP is ugly). I don't intend to ever run any Drones, so I think these would make sick Daemon Princes!

Generally, I don\t see an issue with converting a bloat drone into a Nurgle DP with wings. That said, you'll have to find a way to make them look more like demon princes and less like vehicles. For example, at a minimum they'll need arms that have reasonable facsimiles of the DP weapon loadout. They need to be different enough that they don;t look like Bloat Drones anymore at any rate. You can't just use them as "counts as" DPs and go home happy.

If you're a dab hand with the greenstuff, it wouldn't be that hard to model on some more fleshy looking connective parts. That plus some arms should be enough to satisfy most WYSIWYG concerns. I'd probably start by looking for arms that can be mounted low and to the sides. The current Talos model is probably a great place to start looking for inspiration.

I think the OP means Plague Drones, although any of them could be a daemon prince, I reckon.

That looks great! Are those Tyranid Warrior legs or Hive Tyrant?

Gotta admit, I thought we we on about Bloat Drones at first too, Plague Drones make much more sense, and that pic shows it can work pretty well.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

I think I used Hive Tyrant legs, but Carnifex legs should work just as well. Nice thing about this conversion is that it's super easy and cheap. I think I bought the legs for about $1 and the arm may have been less than that.

Plague Drones makes way more sense (although now I think I could do something cool with a bloat drone as well). The conversion pictured in the first reply is bloody brilliant. Not a super high degree of difficulty, uses GW parts, looks great - it's everything it needs to be. Nicely done sir.

Thank you! Like you said, it's not a difficult conversion at all. Plus I still have the parts to make two more, all for less than $30.

I think that making something similar to this would make for a great daemon prince. I would recommend adding a few more details and some armour to it though, it would give it a personal touch and make it less likely for someone to say "oh its a plaige drone with carnifex legs".

Scratch building some relic armor would be a nice touch.

I'm thinking one will look more like a fly-slug, call it the "Mother of Poxes" or something... I think a fly laying eggs and maggots crawling all over it. Would be a counts-as demon prince, I want it to be gross and repulsive lol.

Second one I think I may do something similar to the above posted, I'm not too great with Green Stuff but I'm definitely getting better, so I may try an armored approach.

My issue is my bitz bin is thin, so I'm going to lean heavily on a Nid player I play to get a few bitz (I'm trading him some stuff for them)

Fortunately, Nurgle-ish flesh is easy to do with green stuff. My own skills are definitely not up to snuff to try something like armor, I would personally try building some out of plastic card instead.
