One model I've always loved is the Valdor Tank Hunter. Something about it just appeals to me, the whole "Remember the first tanks we used 38,000 years ago? Let's take that and put a huge laser on it" idea. Now they've received a bit of a boost in 8th, I've found the opportunity to get one cheap, and have built a list to include it in. Here's the 2k armoured list I've come up with. Batallion Detachment - Imperial Guard +3CP HQ Company Commander - 39pts - Warlord - Grand Strategist - Plasma Pistol - Power Sword - Kurov's Aquilla Lord Creed - 70pts Troops Infantry Squad - 47pts - Flamer Infantry Squad - 47pts - Flamer Infantry Squad - 47pts - Flamer Infantry Squad - 47pts - Flamer Heavy Support Heavy Weapon Squad - 54pts - 3x Autocannon Spearhead Detachment - Imperial Guard +1CP HQ Commander Pask - 257pts - Vanquisher - Lascannon - Multi-Meltas Heavy Support Leman Russ Squadron - 360pts - 2x Leman Russ - 2x Lascannon - 2x Heavy Bolters Leman Russ Squadron - 402pts - Demolisher - Lascannon - Heavy Bolters - Executioner - Lascannon - Plasma Cannons Manticore - 143pts Supreme Command - Imperial Guard +1CP HQ Company Commander - 30pts - Relic of Lost Cadia Primaris Psyker - 46pts Primaris Psyker - 46pts Lord of War Valdor Tank Hunter - 389pts - Heavy Flamer So this gives me 9CP after taking the second relic, and additionally I can get further CPs when either myself or my opponent use strategems. Main plan is to form a solid armoured contingent with the squads holding back to take objectives. The Valdor will simply act as a tank sniper, and the Psykers will support the infantry; one tactic is to use Combined Squads and the Primaris power to the unit of 20, stick them in cover to give a 3+ save, pretty tough to shift despite their T3. Thoughts?

It's a tough crowd here on dakkadakka. I haven't got hardly any comments on most of my lists.
Firstly its helpful to add the regiment you are using. I assume Cadia with each considering youre taking cadian characters, but you never know if someone got mixed up.
I think your autocannons should be in your weapon teams for protection. Also, I think flamers are best with catachans. Plasmas are a much better bang for your buck especial with the cadian doctrine. If you don't have them I'd say the grenade launcher are much more versatile.
As far as your blob of 20 I would caution on the frailty of toughness 3 guys. You may find cover is scarce or not favorable on some boards. If your worried about losing troops I always air on the side of caution and take more bodies rather than try to buff the weak infantry. Infantry squads are dead men walking, can't get too attached.
I like tanks, but I think you may want one more option for indirect fire. Manticores are great, but I'd think about adding a basilisk by maybe swapping out one of your basic leman russ tanks.
Also taking as many tanks as you are you seem to have the damage output down. If you insist on the valdor I'd say cut back on the leman russes in order to add a different element into your army. I would consider some kind of deep striking units like rough riders, tempestus scions, elysians, or outflanking tallarn.
If you don't like any of my ideas, I'm sure you will do ok. Imperial Guard are fairly forgiving this edition.

I'm pretty sure the usual consensus is that creed is not worth it. Besides that an alternative for the russes is to remove all side weapons and use the additional points for another tank or something else, I like to keep the lascannon, as its only additional 12 points over the bolter.
I like pask, but I think you should replace the vanquisher with a battle cannon, as the vanquisher is simply worse at everything. And besides that maybe consider keeping him single purpose, and replace the milti-meltas with perhaps plasmacannons.
A tactic for not loosing pask is smoke + the psykers nightshroud and keeping him hidden in first turn.
A final point is that you might run out of bodies to protect the tanks from assault.

You'd only have 7CP not the 9 - as Creed has to be your Warlord in order to give you the 2 extra CP.
I personally, would prob look at changing Pask to a Punisher, rather than the Battle Cannon, and the multi meltas to heavy bolters. I feel like you have enough anti-tank elsewhere that you could instead focus on some anti horde.
Likewise, i'd also put the heavy weapon teams inside 3 of the Infantry squads. Just gives you some ablative wounds for them. You could even drop a couple of flamers for the 4th autocannon if you wanted.

My mistake on the Creed bit.
I ran this list last Thursday against an Ultramarines list, consisting of Las-Predators, a Leviathan and Redemptor Dread, Assault Cannon Razorbacks and a Stormraven backed up by a Chapter Master or Gulliman for re-rolls. The list in particular has been very hard to play against with my other armies.
The Valdor performed much better than I thought, destroying 2 Predators, crippling the Leviathan and killing his Librarian. While there's a consensus that Pask is only good in a Punisher, I've still had success using him in a Vanquisher.
