Looking at the classic artwork of the Emperor on the Golden Throne thinking what an awesome tattoo it would be. Mainly because of the whole thousand souls per day thing and the huge paradox of the Emperor's existence, but then it hit me...

A thousand souls per day. Over 10000 plus years that seems like a lot. But really it isn't in the grand scale of things. Really it only comes out to 3.6 billion or so people over the course of those 10k years. If you think about it, that's like what? One decent exterminatus? Not even. The loyal astartes in me wants to brofist our savior for keeping sacrifices down to the bare minimum (let's face it, it could be way more) but then again the taint of chaos upon my geneseed wonders if this isn't just another 'gotcha' moment in the works...

... I mean, if He is plugged into that thing sacrificing psykers to stay alive, well doesn't that kinda remind you of His forgotten origins? What if the old bone bag is up there trying to do the same thing in essence by mass murdering psykers so he can be reborn into a new vessel? Or something along those lines. Maybe he's really just going for full blown godhood, who knows. But I mean, we all know what happens when freaky stuff in realspace hits a climax, gak happens in the Warp. Eldar spawned Slaanesh (hail cocai... Slaanesh!) so Emps has gotta be doing the same thing right?

Gets along better with animals... Go figure.

It's not necessarily a huge number in the scheme of things, but remember that psykers are still quite rare in the human population. Also the astronomicon burns out hundreds more psykers every day as well.

Of course it's also "racial" genocide on a galactic scale to keep the psykers in check so it's definitely not nice, but is also pretty necessary to stop chaos from breaking out everywhere. On the other hand is the suppression of psykers also preventing them from evolving the necessary protections from chaos? Who can say.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

In his afterward to Master of Mankind ADB explains the true horror of this. Psykers are supposed to be the future of the human race. By sacrificing them in this way the IoM is quite possiably stopping the human race from becoming the psykic race they are destined to be. They are quite literally sacrifcing their future for the preasent

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

The emperor is an evil tyrant. Master of Mankind leaves no doubt about this. His whole no pockets can remain free speech. Remember the different perspectives: he outlogics a tech priests, awes his ultra-loyal custodians who turn their brains off when emp's is involved.

Angron was always right. This jerk needs to be killed asap. Chaos may be bad , but boy the Anathema isn't good either.

Also he's an idiot in how he approached the Magnus issue.

The sacrifice of the psykers in Master of Mankind is described and horrifying.

the sacrifice mind you was literally a last ditch effort to save well.. humanity. thats the thing, the emperor is a horrific monster, but he's a monster with a purpose

Which doesn't make sense at all considering in all other fluff vast majority of stable psykers is not thrown away, but made into SM, GK, sanctioned psykers, astropaths, etc, etc, and it's only these deemed unstable, dangerous and lacking control that are sent to death fueling Throne. They would normally be shot anyway because they are ticking time bombs one migraine away from being gateway for demonic invasion, too risky to be kept alive. And even so, it's tiny fraction of all human psykers gathered by Black Ships, and even that is tiny fraction of all human psykers in total. I wish ADB stopped ramming grimdumb for the sake of grimderp everywhere, or at least did it in a way that doesn't instantly prove that he has no sense of scale whatsoever. It's like writing a story where killing a single child once a decade would somehow threaten the future of China...
