Hello. I’m a newbie, and I have just got my Astra Militarum Codex, and I was looking at storm troopers. With detachments as explained in the rules, you need some minimum requirements to take a detachment. From what I can tell about the rules provided, storm troopers don’t have a lot of units going for them, so it looks like they can’t be a brigade without forgoing their regimental doctrine. Am I correct in this? I was really hoping to make a cool commando army with lots of command points. Also, any Militarum Tempestus players play with the brigade detachment, or would you just use them in a smaller detachment in order to get the doctrine?

As you surmised, there is no way to make a Brigade Detachment of Militarum Tempestus. They lack Fast Attack or Heavy Support Options. That being said, it only takes 2 HQ and 3 Troop selections to make a Battalion and there is no reason you can't take more than one of those to stock up on Command Points.

Alternatively, you can take a Battaltion detachment of Militarum Tempestus in addition to a Battalion or Brigade of other IG to get the best of both worlds.
