The premise is that "they will surprise you" with $100 worth of models of your chosen idea that are entirely new and not from their normal line.
Rules:
1. You may choose the genre (Sci-Fi or WW1 for example) and a specific scale. An example would be say, investing in 28mm Goblins from Warlord Games. Go wild!
2. They are only going to give you models. No paints or anything secondary. Vehicles are allowed but they will take a chunk of your investment, so try to focus on infantry.
3. You are not paying for manufacturing or molding price. You are only paying for what the miniatures might cost in store.

Which company do you trust with your idea?

Is this supposed to be some sort of "Gotcha" thread to prove a point about GW?

Your last remark is bizarre and possibly insulting. Mantic is high on my list of companies that gives value for money. And quality is a quantity all its own for some.

Anyway, if resurrecting WGF to create a plastic set of fantasy figures from every age and culture (think of the conversion potential!), then I would go with whoever owns DFC and more plastic spaceships.

I want $100 worth of 31.5mm scale erotic space centaurs from Brother Vinni.

I really don't understand this thread, and that's me being charitable.

There is no such message present in this thread. Feel free to choose Mantic if you wish, I have no loyalty whatsoever to GW

Yeah, we could always use more plastic spaceships

Are those centaurs going to be in metal or plastic?

That is a good question. Five years ago I'd have said that they'd have to be metal to properly capture the voluptuous curves and the supple nuance of a bare glistening centaur hot in the moment, not to mention the studs (heh), barbs, and knobs of any gear they might happen to be wielding or otherwise operating, but there have been some really impressive plastic miniatures done up recently, so I'd go with plastic, just for the additional conversion (think: The Beast with Eight Hooves) opportunities.

That's quite the interesting choice!
Any reason in particular you would trust Perry with that?

I prefer metal over plastic (yes, hipster) but I can see your desire!

Even though I see most people chiming for metal SoB, etc, I do seem to see this request in the 40k community quite often!

Honestly I love both Lizardmen and Skaven equally but I would love to see those space rats

I'd have my Larp group sculpted for me by the Perrys.
We currently play as a sub faction of 20 or so Paladin Knights.
They'd do an ace job of it and it'd be cheap as chips, probably a £20 box would be enough.
I'd have to think about what to do with the change, maybe they could just do everyone on site.

Everyone: No.

GW/FW, and space marine shoulder pads. They're going to waste time making them anyway, so I might as well endorse the inevitable.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

4. Try going for quality, not quantity (for all you people looking at Mantic Games)

That's an odd comment. Whether or not the designs are to everyone's taste, there's nothing wrong with the quality of the Mantic miniatures that I've seen.

With a random $100 to burn, I would probably throw it at Miniature Scenery . Might not get very many models, but they would be awesome...

As for myself, I would love to see some Cadian troops from Corvus Belli, even though they probably wouldn't be heroic.

$500 of new Slaanesh stuff from GW. As long as it contains Azazel the Daemon Prince and a new KoS, I care not what other Slaanesh stuff comes with it. Round out the remaining $$ with whatever. $100 is kind of a lowball.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I think a number of people here not reading the thread topic and jumping to conclusions about it being a GW price thread - it's not..

If we are speaking entirely hypothetically:
- Range of 2000AD minis (or perhaps board games?) by FFG or maybe even CMoN. Think that IP is criminally underused, even away from Judge Dredd I would love to have a 'bounty hunting' game with Jonny Alpha or ABC warriors preventing catastrophes. There is so much untapped potential.
- A bit sacreligious perhaps but I'd like to see what Corvus Belli could do with 40k IP. Would love to see a more cyber-punk take on Necromunda eith non-heroically proportioned miniatures.

$100 would get you about a quarter of a model sculpted.
