I'm glad to finally see a how to play video for Godtear. I have been interested in the game since one of the developers was interviewed on Beasts of War.

What kills me is the steep price. On their website, the game is listed at $150 for an unfinished game that Steamforged Games wants me to play test for them, and $50 for each of the two expansion. That is pretty high. I'm assuming its US dollars but the game would be expensive even if it was Canadian dollars.

Based on their track record, I've liked most of the games Steam Forged Games has produced, but that price! Its a real turn off.

I wouldn't say $50 for a 50 mm and 3-4 30 mm models is particularly surprising. That's pretty standard starter box level pricing. I'll be more curious to see how the game turns out at retail though. I assume they'll do the Champions in plastic, which should cut the cost down quite a bit.

I was glad to see the Let's Play as well though. Somehow I hadn't caught on that this was another MOBA style game. Somehow that's both more and less interesting to me, but it helps me paint a clearer picture. It will need a more diverse Champion roster to really win me over, which is another reason I'm waiting for retail.

Apparently that's just for the playtest items, which are supposed to be limited edition miniatures as well. Word on the street is that the final product will be a boxset like Kick-off for Guild Ball, so plastic and cardboard game pieces.

So there's some confusion about this...

Playtest Pack - 6 Unique Champion and follower miniatures that won't be available again. Different sculpts will be available directly to retail at some point after launch, but these Playtest ones will only be available to folks that participate in the playtest.

Crowdfund - Boxed game with 6 DIFFERENT Champions and followers all in plastic, along with the mat, dice, etc. Stat Cards and accessories available to playtesters for their other 6 Champs.

So at launch of the Boxed game, playtesters will have 12 Champs in their roster.

Thanks for the info. However, it seems odd that all the playtesting is going towards champions that won't be in the starter set...

Will we be seeing more Godtear on your channel in the near future?

Well it's core rules playtesting at the moment, and the playtest ones will have cards available in the Kickstarter, the playtesters will just have access to the variant models earlier than anyone else.

And yes!
