Didn't find a topic so here's a (fresh) one.

Death guard detachment, points left in reserve for summoning a daemon. A character summons a nurge herald, for example.

So - which detachment does the herald belong to now - the character's, it has no detachment, or something third?
Also, does the mere presence of the newly summoned nurgle daemon ( as it doesn't have the death guard faction keyword ) remove the entire detachment's special abilities in view of controlling objective and that rapid fire up to 18 inches rule?

Or does the detachment retain its special abilities?

It doesn't belong to any detachment. It will never benefit, nor remove, a detachment trait.
