I've converted three Vindicare Assassins. For two of them, I was planning some scenic bases that would require larger bases than they use as standard, I was thinking either 50mm, or 60mm but certainly not larger. Would there be any real issue with this?

As far as I can see, it would provide no benefits based on their usage, and possibly allow foes to get into melee faster which could actually be a disadvantage. If there were any buff effects or whatnot, a standard base could be used for measuring.

You'd find that most people wouldn't have a problem with this, myself included.

Do they have any aura abilities that could be claimed as an "advantage" ?

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

No, they don't. They'll just be a supplemental detachment for my SW, so I don't think they'd be near anything that could give them one they could use either.

I figured it'd be fine. I wouldn't have an issue with it.

A single character that is also a solo sniper with no buffing auras can definitely have a bigger scenic base without considering that modeling for advantage. It's rather the opposite since the assassin is usually placed in cover on top of some building/ruins and with a larger base it may be harder to position him in the exact spot you want him to be.

I'd be fine with it, but if you ever do tournaments it could be an issue.

I wouldn't let this put you off. TOs don't have the time or inclination to go through every army looking for things on slightly the wrong base.

The only reason it would matter in a tournament if is your opponent(s) told the TO you were modelling for advantage with it and felt they were being cheated.

One of the assassins has an explode aura (Evisor I think) that may get a boost to it's AOE but that's the only one I think.
