Saturday and Sunday GTs

Where?
1691 US Highway 46
Ledgewood, New Jersey 07852

While for 40k I am happy to see a turn towards ITC as opposed to CA rules - why the forced secondary missions?

It probably doesn't change the army composition so much but why deliberately take away the ITC standard of letting players choose secondaries based upon opponent?

Trying to get the games started quickly. Hence most missions also having set objective placements. Basically you just start deploying and go, which should help on time. Also the rounds being 2:45 is nice without keeping people there for like 10 plus hours.

Tbh when this becomes a 3 day event (which is the goal for next year so that it can accommodate 128+) we will probably revisit selection of secondaries for the top 8 (or maybe the entire field based on feedback).

Hello there, I would agee with the comment above concerning the secondaries. Most players, if not all, already know which secondaries they are going to use. Keeping the secondaries according to the current ITC format will not cause delays or time sinks but allow the player a chance to counter there opponents army properly. You can even consider allowing at least a handful of secondaries each game so at least players have some options. There’s a reason why the ITC Format is universally used as the format works. Hope this helps and good luck with the tourney...

I think you're right that this is the better way to go. Will confirm soon but it seems that most people who are registered would prefer to pick their secondaries or don't mind one way or the other. My personal preference was always for the choice of secondaries so if that's the way that we go for this event, that'd be great in my book!

ITC is not 'universally used' and 'it works' can be debated considering its severe impact on army building to deny secondaries to your opponent.

Ordana its fine if you don't like it, but don't try to detract from other TO's using it.

Having a unified ruleset is way better for the playerbase than having 20 different tournament rule sets.

ITC is currently the largest and most used system across NA so its also our best bet atm to making a stable Tournament scene and making our game seem more professional.

I have nothing against people who want to play ITC, I was merely address the notion that the 'standard' should never be deviated from.
ITC has issues (every system does) and the TO tried to address what he sees as a flaw by setting fixed secondaries.
He may be right, he may be wrong but the argument of 'Everyone uses ITC, don't change it' is inherently false.

*scans around for a topic*
Ah good there it is.....moving on from the ITC vs generic vs ETC debate.

Last night finished up 3 mortar squads and a sentinel.

Just got the confirmation of my order being delivered so easter weekend is going to be neophyte central. Time to build and paint like 40 guard equivalents.....wait why was I excited about this again?

So as this tourny is starting to approach (considering models need to be painted etc.) can we have a final ruling on rule format and whether the new beta rules will be used (the prior beta rules addressed above are no longer beta)? I know there had been some prior discussion re: opening up each matchup to choose ITC secondaries (there was a poll on the FB with community overwhelmingly to choose your own).

Otherwise assumption is missions are in the manual on website with fixed secondaries (2) and beta rules (the new ones) will be used?

You can now pick your secondaries. We use the comp at our last event (20 people for a RT). Was VERY well received. Our last warmup before Triumph is on May 12th. We will be using all the latest FAQ.

Also note : Triumph will be the ONLY EVENT with 3 tiers of prize support.

1-3 overall (painting , sportsmanship and generalship)
1-3 for battle points ONLY
1-3 for BEST painted. We are the only event that people can compete in painting the same way they could for battle points.

Painting is not required but will definitely help your overall scores.

There will also be over $ 4000.00 in prize support given away !

Thanks for the update man - this event keeps getting better! Just to clarify - 2 or 3 secondaries? ITC standard is 3 but previously there was 2 per map proposed.

i would have really liked to see a minimum painting requirement in a 2 Day GT. 1 day RTT style sure... but a GT should have a 3 color Minimum.

Who do we contact to specify which event we want to play in? I just bought a ticket and want to do the 40K GT but it wouldn’t let us specify when we bought a ticket?

For those attending, I was just informed that rd#1 will begin at 10am now, not 9am as previously mentioned.

I just spoke with Jose and he confirmed this time.
