Is there a comprehensive (or almost comprehensive) list of companies that make wargaming mats? I know of a few like Urbanmatz and Cigar Box Battle but I'd like to find all the others. Thanks.

This thread should be helpful.

It looks like some of the images are down, but it reviews mats from various companies.

That thread is a bit scattered, and has some photobucket issues.

Ones I can recommend (have personal experience with them):

Deep Cut Studios
Urbanmatz
Gamemat.eu

Ones I can't recommend:

F.A.T. Mat - the ones I've seen had goofy art, and were not particularly good material (though this may have just been the users beating them up or something). Their cost is basically the same, yet the art is really sub-par compared to the companies above.

Ones I'm curious about:

PWORKS (Have some good art, some really bad art - haven't seen a mat in person)
Kraken Wargames (Ran a Kickstarter, have some cool art and choices...but it's been a year or two, and I don't think you can actually buy them yet)

Generally speaking, if you're in the US - expect $85-100 shipped for any of the above for a normal 6x4 in the mousepad/Neoprene material. Some are slightly shinier than others (my Urbanmatz have more of a sheen to them than my Deepcut Studios mat). The one double-sided mat I've seen and played on from Gamemat.eu is excellent, but expensive.

I've ordered a bunch of stuff from Gamemat.eu. Fantastic stuff. Put up a mini-review here.

There is also a company here in the US called Hidden Forest Games that makes their own generic neoprene mats.
