A friend of mine said that Farsight doesn’t remove his battle suit and that he does this because if he did it would reveal a withered Corpse. And that the dawnblade has bound his soul to the armor instead. Is this true in the lore or is he just really old?

The last bit of Tau plot I read was in 5th ed, so I could be wrong. Tau have no presence in the warp, they don't have psykers, and they have no way of using warp travel, and didn't even know if its existence until it cam into contact with Man, and the current era when entire worlds were ripped from realspace. They also have next to no interactions with deamon incursions (if any). Tau are believed to have no souls because of this, so I don't think your friend is correct. Again, I have not read current fluff on the Tau, so this could have been retconned.

They have less warp presence than most races not none. Their Warp travel was basically doing a series of jumps by dipping into the Warp and popping out while the Imperium goes all the way in.

IIRC, the one of the main reasons Farsight broke off from the empire is because he learned that the ethereals were hiding the existence of warp from the Tau - at the place where he found the dawn blade was the place he learned of the existence of chaos daemons & the warp, and while Farsight was completely dumbfounded at their sight, the ethereals were fully aware of their existence. I think the source cuts off where Farsight confronted the ethereals about this fact but the ethereals were being shady about it - as if they were utilizing the warp & the Tau for their own hidden agenda.
