A four episode dramatisation of the novel stars soon.

Minor spoilers are in the article.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Never heard of the source material.

Sounds rather intriguing though.

China Mieville novel.

Police procedural/weird fiction. Mieville's kind of weird fiction.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I've not read that one, but I've enjoyed the Bas-Lag books and Kraken (well, The Scar was a drag, because it's 2" thick and I couldn't stand the protagonist). I'll keep an eye out for this.

It's a cool book with an interesting premise, I will be interested to see how the BBC do the special effects of the two cities overlapping.

Maybe they can have a go at rewriting the ending so that it is less rubbish as well!

Blue and sepia filters, by the looks of the promo shot.

I read this one late last year. The setup is better than the pay off. I'll watch it anyway. With Mieville this year and Richard Morgan last year it feels like someone's been digging into my early twenties book reading habits for TV material. A Jon Courtenay Grimwood dramatisation next? Steph Swainston?

You win ... nothing, really, for being the only other person I know of who's admitted to having heard of him. Yes, a miniseries of Pashazade, please.

Well, the option rights for "Redshirts" has passed, so Scalzi has them back again, now.

I've heard of JCG but not read any of his stuff bar the blurbs for them. Nothing grabbed my attention.

The city and the city by Mieville wasn't a bad read, but it was eclipsed by other works in my library since.
