Looking at the great daemons models, or the decimators and brass scorpion or fw knights... How do you fit them in a carrying case without breaking something. I don't see sny of these models surviving a car trip.
I don't even see how i would fit a brass scorpion in a case, so scratching my head for sone of the knights or titans...
Any tricks or recommandations?

Probably in its own box with its own foam

or a baby carrier.

honestly a cardboard box lined with foam would be good enough so long as you were kicking it around.

I use large plastic storage containers (the sort with a lid.) No foam, but I do have magnets in the base and self adhesive magnetic stuff on the bottom of the tub.

There's no way it would be good enough to go through a flight, but to sit on the back seat of the car while I drive the 20 mins to the club, it does fine.

A new day, a new time zone.

Both KR Multicase and Battlefoam can either get you pluck foam, or custom designed foam trays for transporting minis. The other solution that I find kind of neat is a rare earth magnet in the base, and a ferric tray so that barring high speed accident, the mini is firmly locked in place. I know that there are some mini case companies that design their products around this type of solution, but don't recall any names off hand.

Magnetized anything big or set it up with heavy pins. I then carry it in a cardboard box filled with loose pluck foam. Woldwrath, Tyranid titans, and so on

Hell, I magnetize Knights at the waist. Anything Landraider sized or larger needs a "breakdown"

Battle foam has one that fits in its existing bag lines

There was one specific for infinity but i forget the name

Tablewars makes them but they are extremely heavy and the space is really limited. (very wide but not very deep so measure first before purchasing)

but its also stupid easy to just make your own.

snap locking tub about 5$, sheet steel from the home depot, like $1. neodymium magnets. usually about $10 for a hundred. doublesided tape to attach the sheet steel to the bottom of the container.

I find a box that fits the model size to keep it from moving...then add in bubble wrap with other light pieces of terrain (for FW terrain models) and swappable weapons for larger vehicles.

Cheers,

I pin my FW Knights to their bases. Magnetize everything that can be magnetized. Use GW zig-zag trays

KR cases for the stuff that can fit. IMO the softer foam is better for not damaging paint or snagging on pointy details, and the rigid outer case is enough to protect them from bumps even with soft foam.

For things that don't fit (large terrain, my Marauder bomber, etc) I use large cardboard boxes with a layer of foam in the bottom. Fortunately all of the really large things I have are pretty flat models, and I can just sit them on top of the foam without any risk of having the model tip over. It won't save them if you're careless and drop the box, but if you're careful with it you shouldn't have any problems on a car trip.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Magnetising the model helps considerably. I used to use boxes with foam for transporting a Reaver, magnetising the arms has saved a significant amount of space.

Man, do I hate moving that Marauder! It's wing snapped the first time I moved, and every time it got transported after that, that wing always seemed to find a new place to break along.
